Aden couldn't sit still. His leg was bouncing as he wrung his hands together. Titus seemed strangely calm, and it was pissing his mate off. He was supposed to be as nervous or even worse than Aden.

Brushing a hand through his hair, Aden took a deep breath. Everything had gone well. The baby was getting a check up. He was here. He was health. Everything was fine.

A knocked sounded on the door.

The alpha poked his head inside. "Do we make it in time?"

Titus waved them in. "They said it'll be about ten minutes."

Xavier led his mate over to where Karen and Quint were sitting. Aden's mother had a bag full of baby supplies. Bottle, blankets, a little shirt that she had made that said 'I love my daddies' on it. She was way over-prepared, while Aden was doubting if he'd be able to do this. He just wanted to be a good dad.

Darius and Storm sat down beside the couple and released the twins. Daven ran straight to Karen and lifted his arms.

"Oh, I know what you want." She picked the boy up and tapped his nose. Reaching into her bag, she took out some fruit snacks.

Raven rushed over and jumped up and down.

"I brought one for you two." Karen opened the packages and handed them to the pups.

Aden watched the clock. His heart was starting to pound. What would his son look like? He glanced at Titus. He knew what his mate would want, but Aden was a sub.

"I don't even think you've finished raising him yet," laughed Darius.

Aden perked up and realized the brothers were talking, about him? He had no idea. He was close to having a mental breakdown and didn't feel like wasting energy on Darius.

"Aden," said Rose from across the room.

He looked at her.

"Breath, it'll be okay. Just breath."

He forced a smile. It was hard. He was a dad, he was responsible for another life. He covered his mouth. The door opened, and Aden rose to his feet. He immediately started shaking when he saw the doctor.

She smiled at the new parents. "Northern Ridge, Titus and Aden."

Aden nodded. "Yes."

She stepped to the side, and a nurse wheeled in a little cart. Aden saw the little black head of a werewolf pup and his chest tightened. He was beautiful. His son was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. The nurse and doctor left the room. Titus ushered his mate forward.

Aden stood at the side of the bed and peered down at the little bundle. "He's perfect."

Titus kissed his mate's cheek and held onto Aden's shoulders.

The sub reached out for his son.

"Wait, Aden." Rose stood. "You need to shift. It's traditional that the mother holds the child first. In this case, that means you," she teased, patting his arm. "The hospital workers are always very careful not to hold pups too close because the baby makes connections by smell, and the first couple are the strongest."

Aden nodded and took off his shirt. He felt extremely awkward as he undid his pants. He shifted before undressing any further.

Rose smiled. "Alright, unwrap him and just cradle him to your chest."
