Raven couldn't sit still. They were almost there! He bounced up and down and peered out the window. "Look, look. There it is! We're here." He glanced at his brother and Jagger and found them scowling at the floor.
Taking a deep breath, Raven settled into his seat in the back of the SUV. The seat beside him was folded down and held all of their baggage. Most were Raven's. He really hoped he hadn't forgotten anything.
They stopped at the gate, and his father rolled down the window. Darius handed them the boys' information.
"Welcome to Midfield Academy," said the guard. "Pull right ahead and follow the signs to the dorms. The two dominants boys are in building 'C'. Check in at the office. This will get you into the sub campus." He handed Darius a pass. "The counselors are waiting to help get your son settled."
"Thanks." Darius pulled through.
It was so exciting. Raven peered out the window and watched all the boys unpacking their things. A line of cars was heading off toward the girls' campus. He sucked in his lips. Maybe this year, he'd do more things. Go to games with the others subs. Only if his grades were good, and he didn't have any projects to get done. Raven wasn't willing to let those slip.
Darius pulled into an empty spot and took off his seatbelt. "Alright, let's get everything up to you two's room, and then we'll head up to the sub-campus." He got out of the car.
Daven groaned and climbed out. Jagger followed with a sigh of his own.
"Come on boys." The alpha clapped his hands together. "Let's see some excitement. Nine months without having to deal with your mean, old dad," he grinned at Daven.
Raven maneuvered through the seats and tumbled out. His brother wasn't having it. He stood with his arms folded, glaring at their father.
"You're not getting out of this." Darius moved passed him and opened the trunk. "For the next nine months, you will be living here." He took out a bag. "You're representing Northern Ridge, remember that?" He passed it to his son. "So I better not be getting any phone calls."
Daven rolled his eyes and took it. Jagger moved into grabbed his things.
Raven stood behind him. "Do you need help?"
"Nope," Jagger replied. "I didn't bring much, unlike," he glanced over his shoulder.
With a shrug, Raven looked away as he played with his hair. "We go out a lot," he said under his breath.
Jagger laughed and unloaded the rest of his things. Raven backed away and looked around. The parking lot was full.
"Hey."
Raven jumped and glanced at the boy unloading the back of a truck. "Hi."
The brown haired boy smiled at the sub. Raven tucked his hair behind his ear. He was very cute.
"Dropping off some pack members?"
Raven nodded. "My brother, I go to the sub campus."
"Oh, really." He leaned against the vehicle and folded his arms. "The subs came watch my games sometimes, but I've never seen you."
"I enrolled late," replied Raven. "My dad's the alpha, so I have to keep my grades up."
"That's great. A sub with a bit more ambition."
Raven was all smiles. "I'm thinking of coming more with my friends this year. What sport do you play?"
"Rugby in the fall and track in the spring."
