Opening the dishwasher, Raven started to empty it. Things had been awkward in the house since his blow up. He felt bad about putting all the blame and pressure on Jagger but it needed to be said.
Footsteps came from the hallway. Raven looked over his shoulder to see Jesse standing by the table.
"Hey."
Tucking his hair behind his ear, Raven forced a smile. "Hi."
"So..." Jesse wandered over to the stool tucked under the kitchen island. "Is there anything you'd like to talk about? You know, I'm here to listen."
Raven shook his head and grabbed a couple plates out of the sink.
"You've been ignoring everyone the last couple of days."
"I've been busy with school."
Jesse sat up. "You're mixing the dirty dishes with the clean."
Groaning, Raven filled in the few empty spaces and slammed the door shut. Folding his arms, he leaned back against the counter. "I hate being an omega. I'm so tired of never getting to decide anything."
Jesse leaned up on the counter. "I'm in the same place as you. I even have an alpha father which makes it that much better."
With a sigh, the long-haired boy stared at his feet. "If I tell you a secret, do you swear to never tell anyone?"
"How many times have I told you, I ain't no fucking snitch?"
Raven smiled. "Not even Daven."
"I've never been the type to run off and confide in a dominant."
"I mean it, Jesse. You can never tell him or anyone else. It would ruin everything."
"Raven." Jesse looked the other sub in the eyes. "I swear to you, I won't tell. Not even if Daven says he'll mate with me if I do. I'll die a fucking virgin before I rat you out."
Raven hurried over and collapsed in Jesse's arms. "I like Jagger."
"Fucking knew it," whispered Jesse with a grin.
"Jesse, please."
"What? I've been seeing the little looks you give him. I'm more observant than people think."
Raven glanced at the stairs.
"They're not here. Daven still in class and Jagger went to the gym."
Chewing on his fingernails, Raven wondered if it was partially his fault the dominant had been so uptight.
"Does Jagger know?"
Sitting down, Raven nodded. "He kissed me."
"Then what's the problem? If he likes you too, then go out already."
Raven shrugged. "We can't. He scared that my dad will find out and cause problems in the pack. Not to mention Daven might not take it well and those two have been best friends nice we were five. And I guess the pack hates the thought that Jagger might be the next alpha and I'm the precious pack sub." He wiped his face. "The whole situation is so frustrating. I get that we're eighteen and dominants aren't as fearless as they like to portray themselves, but I just want him to at least try."
Jesse rubbed the other sub's back. "I know the feeling. Daven and I have been engaged what five years now. I'm ready but he won't go beyond kissing."
"I'm okay not having a mate or a boyfriend but it's not like I'm anti-relationship."
"It doesn't have to be Jagger."
Raven met the gaze of the other boy.
"Think about it," said Jesse. "There could be another guy out there for you. Who knows, maybe you'll come to like them better. Jagger isn't the only decent man in the world and let's be honest, you're fucking hot."
