"Jagger!"
The dominant barely had time to steady himself when he was tackled by Raven.
The sub threw his arms around Jagger's neck. "I'm so glad you got to come. I missed you."
Jagger hugged the boy. "I missed you, too."
Raven hopped down and was all smiles.
"How has Europe been?"
"Amazing!" He looped arms with Jagger and started leading the dominant through the mansion.
Raven started telling his packmate all about the different things he got to do and see. Jagger nodded. He hadn't been sleeping well and the driving all night to get here in time before Raven left wasn't helping.
"How has the pack been?" Raven grabbed a door handle.
Jagger shrugged. "The same. A lot more work for me now, but it's exactly the same as you left it."
"It's kind of sad that I didn't get to go home for just a little bit." Raven led the way into the ballroom. The Christmas tree was still up even though the holiday had happened almost a week ago. "It's the biggest tree we ever had, right?" Raven lifted his arms overhead.
"Yeah, I don't think the Perri house could hold one that size. Are they still here?"
"Everyone's at breakfast, but I wanted to be there when you go here and show you this. They have to take it down tonight."
"Well, school is starting up again."
Raven sighed and fiddled with his hair. Jagger smiled to himself. It was a habit the sub always did when he was upset or nervous. It was good to see Raven hadn't changed. He was still the white pup that chased after him and Daven growing up.
"It's really nice." Jagger took a deep breath. "I'm pretty hungry, though."
Raven perked up again and grabbed the dominant's hand as he hurried out the door. "You're going to love eating here. Midfield has the best food."

Jagger tossed his book bag in the corner of his room and fell into this bed.
Daven watched from the other side of the room. "Rough day?"
"Just trying to get used to being back at school."
"More like recovering from going home. Being in Northern Ridge is way more tiring than having to get up at seven."
"Yeah, I guess." He loosened his tie.
"So how was being in charge?"
"Fine."
Daven tapped his pen on his binder. "Dude, just because Raven is off in his own little world and didn't notice, doesn't mean I didn't pick up on that something was wrong. You've been in your head ever since you got here."
"I'm tired." Jagger shrugged. "Everything went great."
"Whatever, but if there's anyone to talk to about this with, it's me. My pack may be Midfield now, but Northern Ridge is in my blood."
Jagger closed his eyes. He was so tired of hearing about blood ties. In the end, they were all werewolves. All the packs were intermixed a bit, so why did it matter so much? "Does anyone ever doubt you because you're not born in Midfield?"
"Probably, they've never said it to my face. Midfield is a bit different than back home. They lost their alpha. They had to find another and everyone knew that Jesse would be handed over to the lucky alpha that was chosen. But I do sense some resentment from them."
