Raven was starting to regret inviting his brother to go on a double date with them. It had taken a while to arrange everyone's schedule but as they sat in awkward silence, the sub wished his brother had a meeting to go to at the mansion.
"Do you want that?" Jesse reached over his fiance to grab a breadstick.
Daven grunted.
Jesse didn't seem to care while the other sub was dying on the inside. Daven wouldn't stop staring at Josh. Though, the dominant was doing a great job at ignoring the next alpha.
Raven stirred the noodles around his plate. "Umm... so is the zoo okay still? We can go somewhere else if you want."
Jesse shook his head. "I'm the one that wants to go to the zoo, so we're not changing it." He dipped the breadstick in ranch.
"We should get going soon, then," said Josh. "It's quite a drive."
"Did you ever think werewolf cities don't have zoos for a reason?" stated Daven.
"Don't care," said Jesse. "I'm not an animal so I'm not taking it personally."
"Wolves are in the zoos." Daven arched a brow.
"And you should be too." Jesse grabbed his fiance's chin and gave it a playful shake. "Chill the fuck out. I want to go. They have polar bears and elephants. Unlike Raven over here, I'm not a world traveler. This is the only chance I'll ever get to see them. Unless you're planning on taking me to Africa." Jesse took a sip from his drink. "We could go on a honeymoon after we're finally mated."
Sitting back, Daven stretched his arm along the back of the booth. "The zoo works."
The shorter sub rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath.
The waiter stopped by and gave them the check.
Josh was first to grab it. "I got it." He slid his credit card into the slot.
"I can pay for Jesse and me," said Daven.
"Don't worry about it. I got it." Josh quickly handed it off to the waiter as she passed by again. He glanced at Raven. "Do you want a to-go box? You didn't eat much."
The sub's nerves had gotten to him and he felt sick every time he tried to take a bite. He could take it home. Jagger would eat it if Raven didn't.
"Sure."
Josh signaled a waiter and asked for one.
"I need to take a piss." Jesse stood.
"Me too." Raven slipped past Josh to get out of the booth.
"I don't need someone to hold my hand," said Jesse. "I'm fully capable of going alone."
"Just shut up and let's go." The long-haired boy grabbed the boy's arm and hurried off toward the restrooms. "Do you think it's going alright?"Jesse shrugged. "Josh isn't dead yet so I'd say yes."
Raven let out a frustrated sigh. "That isn't making me feel better."
The sub shrugged. "Daven is Daven. I can't control him. If I could, this would be permanent." He pulled his shirt over to show his scar before entering the bathroom.
"You are no help," Raven called after him.
Taking a deep breath, he looked back at the table to see his brother sending death glare at Josh who was messing around on his phone. The sub had to admit at least Josh could handle his twin or know how to ignore the fact that his life was in danger.
***
They were holding hands. Daven did not approve of this. They were out among humans and Josh thought it was okay to hold his little, innocent brother's hand. Humans didn't look at a gay relationships the same. What if they were jumped?! It would be entirely Josh's fault.
