The door started to beep. Liam perked up when it opened. "Hey, Vin—" He scowled at Jagger. "How the hell did you get my door code? I swear to god if Daven used some successor alpha shit, I'm going to request a new one."
Jagger closed the door and rolled over a chair next to the bed. "I texted Vinny. He gave it to me." He sat down and folded his arms.
Liam scoffed and faced the wall. "I'm surprised he even remembers it. His soon to be mate's pack isn't that far away. He might as well just move there and commute with Brock."
The dominant leaned over his knees. "What's wrong?"
"I'm not hungry. There's nothing wrong with that."
"I'm not stupid either. When something's wrong, you always lock yourself away rather than talk about it."
"Sorry, I'm not the emotional mess like all the other subs."
"You're not like other subs that's for sure," breathed Jagger, as he leaned back in the chair.
Liam snatched his pillow and chucked it at him. "That's the point. I'm not. You don't see a scar, do you?" He yanked over his shirt. "Everyone else has been spoken for which isn't exactly a confidence booster. So when I want to be left alone, leave me alone." He climbed off the bed and grabbed the pillow off the floor. Tossing it back on the bed, Liam went the bathroom and unlocked the door. "I'm taking a shower."
"Okay." Jagger swiveled from side to side. "I'll be here when you get out."
Liam clenched his jaw. "Just go without me."
"Let's talk and then I'll go."
"I don't want to talk to you."
"We talked all summer. Why is doing it face to face any different?" He took out his phone. "We can text if you want, but that'll be rather ridiculous when we're sitting two feet from each other."
"I don't want to talk about it!" Liam covered his mouth and stared at his feet. "Why do I suck so bad at being an omega?"
"You're not an omega to start with."
Liam shook his head. "No, Raven and Jesse aren't omegas. I am. I don't have a daddy to come save me and defend my honor. Hell, I don't even know who my parents are, or if they are even alive. I'm not engaged. I'm simply an omega. There's is no reason to not call me exactly what I am." He clenched his jaw. "You know I hate to be coddled so just say it like it is."
"In rank, yes," said Jagger. "But as your friend, I don't see you like that. You're a sub just like everyone else on this campus. They don't call it the omega campus. The official name is the sub-campus."
Liam wiped his face roughly. "I guess I can thank Raven for your open-mindedness."
"Not everyone wants a timid, shy mate. Someone is going to enjoy your off-handed comments and sarcasm."
"You're not making me feel better."
Jagger stood and wandered over to the smaller boy. "You look like you need some ice cream."
"You're really not helping," said Liam firmly.
"I need some ice cream," said Jagger. "So how about we stop talking about this until you want to and go get some." He looked out his phone. "I'll text Daven and Jesse and tell them we have an ice cream emergency."
Liam put his hand over the screen. "Don't you dare. Jesse will freak. He'll use his boyfriend against me until he gets whatever it is out of me."
Jagger grinned. "I guess you can take that shower later, right?"
