Liam glanced between the two other boys sitting at the table. Raven was pushing around the noodles on his tray while Jesse was barely stopping to breathe between bites. Only a few more months and they'd graduate and be out of this place. Jesse would mate Daven. Raven would go to the same college as his brother and Liam could escape the werewolf world all together.

"How was your break?" asked Jesse as he shoveled some noodles covered in some meat sauce into his mouth. "Did you get anything good for Christmas.

Raven shrugged. "A few things. I wish I didn't have to come back, though."

Jesse arched a brow. "What's wrong?"

"Some of the other guys were being an ass," said Liam, twisted the lid off his milk.

"Who?" The strawberry-blond sat up straight and searched the lunchroom.

"Cool it," said Liam.

Raven sighed. "It's fine. Between you and my brother, no one is going to call me a whore to my face."

Jesse frowned. "They better not be saying it behind your back, either."

Liam finished off his drink. "I'm going to the basketball game tonight. Do either of you want to?"

Jesse wiped his face on the back of his hand. "I still haven't started that paper for history."

Nodding, Liam looked to the other boy. "Do you want to come?"

Raven shook his head. "I'm tired. I'm going to go to bed early."

"Okay. I'll talk to your guys later." Rising to his feet, Liam picked up his tray.

"Bed early?" said Jesse. "Since when did you go to bed early when we have a test Monday."

Liam left the table before he was drawn back into the usual conversation. Raven was finally feeling his rank. It was too bad the sub didn't make it through high school with the same enthusiasm before real life crushed it. Liam outlook toward life had been destroyed a long time ago. He dumped his tray and head for the dorms.

Taking out his phone, he checked his messages. Cyrus had left one. With a sigh, he tucked the phone into his pocket without reading it. What was he doing? He was pretty much in a sugar daddy relationship with the Midfield alpha's nephew. Shaking his head, he tried to think of a way to convince Cyrus to leave him alone but also not tell anyone he was selling sexual services. Whoring himself out wasn't the smartest idea, but he had earned enough to pay for his college applications plus a good amount for tuition. It was mostly because of Cyrus. He gave the sub more money than Liam asked for. The dominant kept saying it was a tip.

It wasn't charity, at least. Liam had to keep telling himself that. He earned the money. It was his to spend and use as he wanted.

Liam sat at the top of the bleachers and watched the varsity players raced back and forth. Cyrus had improved quite a bit from last year. The dominant might even be taller if that was even possible. Some guys had all the luck. Liam let out a sigh. If he was just a few inches taller, the sub might have been able to be bumped up to a lower rank. He laid his head back against the wall. As soon as he graduated, Liam was going to test his luck on his own. Living with humans couldn't be any worse than the life he had now.

The buzzer rang to end the third quarter. The players went to their team benches so the coach could give them a final pep talk. Midfield had an okay led. Cyrus was stepping up as a valuable asset to the team and would probably play most of the next quarter.

The buzzer went off again and the players jogged back out onto the court.

"Go, Cyrus!"

Liam smiled at the couple seated near the bottom of the bleachers. River was way more excited this season. He jumped up and cheered every time Cyrus's touched the ball.
