"Oh look at this, Raven. The dorm rooms are so cute," said Storm.

"They're all like me." He leaned in closer to the laptop screen.

Darius breathed out through his nose. He was desperately trying to remain calm. His son was not going to be shipped off to some school. Raven would stay here where he could keep an eye on him.

"I'm not agreeing to this."

"Then I will take him by myself," replied Storm.

Darius flexed his fingers. "He's not going."

Raven sat up. "Dad?"

"You're not going! No school is going to take you unless you have your alpha's permission, and I'm saying no." The tears started to swell in his son's eyes again, and he was sick of it. "If you're going to cry then go to your room."

Raven sat frozen.

"Now! Go!" He pointed to the boys' room.

The pup jumped up and ran off. Folding his arms, Darius made a point not to look at Storm. He already knew she was pissed, but this time, he would not fold.

"He's going, Darius. I've already organized a tour."

"Fine, take him. Show him everything he can't have. I'm sure you can convince them to enroll him without my permission." He stood and headed for the door.

"Darius," she snapped. "Do not walk away from me. We are figuring this out right now."

He turned sharply. "You already have it figure it out, but I am the alpha. It's my decision this time, Storm. I will not send my omega son across the country. I don't care what other packs do, this is my son. He will stay here where it is safe. And that's the end of it." He marched from the room and didn't stop until he was outside.

The cool air was helping clear his head. He couldn't believe them. They knew nothing about this school, and they were just ready to drop Raven off there to fend for himself. The boy was a sub. A sub. A sub that would be going to school that also taught dominants. He hated it. He hated those evil pubescent boys. They only thought about sex, and Raven was a prime target. He punched the wall and felt the tension in his body leaked out from the cuts on his knuckles. Closing his eyes, he took a moment to just breath.

It wasn't helping.

Ruffling up his head fur, he jogged off into the trees. He needed to run this out. He had to calm down before he did something to send the lower rank into a panic. Shifting into his wolf, he took off at a dead sprint through his territory. His mind was still whirling. He'd just keep running until he was too tired to think.

Storm stood by the entrance to the cave, tapping her foot with the brochure under her arm. He was in trouble. The moment he got back, her mate was in so much trouble. She had a distraught child crying in her room, and Darius even had the nerve to use the alpha card on her. He was going to regret it.

The red werewolf appeared through the trees. He rose to two legs and trudged up the trail breathing heavily. "Storm, I'm too tired. Let's talk tomorrow."

She marched over and slapped him hard enough to echo through the cave. The pack members inside scrambled out of sight.

"Are you awake now?"

Darius held his cheek with a look of shock on his face.

"That's for calling Raven an omega. That hurt him worse than saying no about Midfield."

The alpha swallowed hard. "I can't let him go, Storm."

"So you'd rather crush him instead?" She shrugged. "You'd rather reconfirm to him that he's just a sub? It's okay if he stays stupid, we're just going to mate him off to some man anyways. Mostly likely for land or something else just as trivial."
