Trevor sat in his office trying to decide if he actually wanted to do this. Would Darius even agree to it? He tapped his finger on his armrest. For Jesse to react like that was a clear sign. It would have to be Daven. The boy was destined to be a powerful werewolf and had the potential to lead Midfield. But that also meant, handing over his little boy.

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

Darius slipped inside. "How's Jesse?"

"Rough night, but he's keeping himself busy playing video games."

"That's good." Darius sat down in the chair across from the other alpha. "I want to apologize for what happened. Daven had no idea that boy was your son."

Trevor waved him off. "It's no one's fault. It's just unfortunate that things had to turn out this way." He took in a deep breath. "I have a proposal for you." Turning forward, he clasped his hands.

Darius sat there with a confused look on his face. "About what?"

"Daven."

The red-haired man licked his lips. "What about him?"

"I want to arrange a mating."

Darius sat back in his chair and narrowed his eyes. "My son is thirteen."

"So is my son." Trevor stood.

"What?" Darius rose to his feet as well. "Your son? Whose son are we talking about."

"Our sons." Trevor faced the other man. "Daven and Jesse."

Darius shook his head. "No way in hell. The kid just vomited all over Daven yesterday. My son wants nothing to do with Jesse. Daven isn't even gay."

Walking over to the couch, Trevor dropped into it. "Do you understand what I'm offering him? What the man who mates with Jesse gets." He pinched the brow of his nose.

The Northern Ridge alpha stood up straight. "Your pack."

"I'm offering my son, but also to make Daven my successor."

Shock filled the man's expression as he sunk into the chair across from Trevor. "What the hell is happening?"

Trevor opened the small chairside cabinet and took out a bottle. "There's a belief involving twins like yours and mine. One is a dominant, clear from the moment they are born that they are destined to be an alpha, and the other an omega, who appears to have given all their strength to other." He poured two glasses. Taking one, he quickly down it. "My successor, my son, died with my mate. His fur was as black as my own, he was..." He cleared his throat and down another glasses. "I need one of the same caliber." Trevor picked at his eyebrow, gazing off across the room. "The other day when I met Daven and Jagger, it occurred to me you have two, so I don't feel as bad asking you to agree to this."

"Two?" Darius took the other glass and finished it off in one go.

"Alphas."

Looking away, Darius sucked in his cheek. "I hate how damn sensitive your family is to rank. One meeting and you've already figured it out."

"I want Daven."

"I didn't come here to barter off my son." Darius put his glass down. "He will choose his mate. He will lead Northern Ridge."

"What about Jagger?" Trevor poured another glass for them both. "Are you going to put them against each other. The boy has the bloodline that my grandfather and uncle coveted. It's a good thing for your brother nothing ever worked out, or that death match might have turned out differently."
