Elsa and Hans sat there awkwardly, both unsure what to say to each other until Elsa's darker thoughts interrupted and she couldn't help but to ask him the question that's burned inside of her since he left.
"May I ask you something?" Elsa asked, not wanting to look at Hans but stared into his empty green eyes. He nodded slightly in response. "Years ago when you took me from my ice castle and brought me back to Arendelle... You had the perfect opportunity to kill me then or at least let those men kill me. Why didn't you?"
"I... I couldn't let them kill you." He said and looked down at his fingers. "I've told you this before."
"But why?"
"Because..." He paused then let out a small, defeated sigh. "Elsa, I want to be completely honest but I don't want to hurt you."
"You'll most likely hurt me but I need to find out eventually."
"I kept you alive because I thought you could unfreeze Arendelle then when you told me you couldn't I knew something had to happen to you. When I left Anna to die I knew that you could be considered the blame and tried you for treason but then you escaped." He said, refusing to look up and see her hurt expression. "When I found you on the ice I knew that the only way to take Arendelle was to kill its queen."
"I want you to know that I haven't forgiven you for what you did but I'm trying. I really am." She said and felt hot tears forming in her eyes and felt her hands began to tingle with anger, sadness and fear. "When I found you in the ice castle when you escaped why didn't you kill me then?"
"I couldn't bring myself to and I haven't figured out why."
"I think I'm going to leave... I need some time alone." Elsa said and began scrambling out of bed. She went behind the changing screen and made herself a dress similar to the one like the one she made years ago. It was slim and icy blue without a train following behind her.
"Elsa, I don't think you should go. What if Anna has the baby while you're gone?" Hans stood up from the bed and went over to her and stood in front of her, laying his hands on her shoulders.
"Please don't touch me." Elsa snapped, feeling her powers tingle at her fingertips. "I'm leaving and I'll be back in a few days. Take care of my sister." She said and those words took them both back to the moment before he swung his sword and told her that Anna was dead.
