Chapter Seventeen: Promises

"Why is my brother here?" Hans asked Elsa. He leaned forward in his chair and could faintly smell Elsa's perfume.

"He saved me from a man who tried taking me to his home. Alan took me to a house where he was staying and we ate because we were starving and on the way there he asked if he could come stay here to see you."

"What did you tell him about me?"

"Nothing, really... Just that you seemed good and that we've been coming closer." She said and smiled once she saw a small smile come across his face.

"Did he try anything?" He asked, nibbling slightly at his nails.

"No... What's wrong? You don't want him here?"

"Anytime I was interested in something he would make it his secret goal to take that from me... Especially the girls that I liked and it worries me that he'll take you and I really like you."

"I don't think he'll take me away." Elsa smiled on the outside but on the inside she was jumping up and down from him admitting her feelings. "It's not like I have any remote interest in him."

"A lot of girls said that too... He's very charming and intelligent with what he says. He makes girls fall in love then moves onto his next victim."

"Hans, many other girls may have said that and fallen for him but am I anything like other girls?" She asked, her head slightly cocking to the side with a small smirk.

"No, none of them could ever compare to you... None of them had ice magic either." Hans smiled and they both laughed together, easing the small bit of tension. "You're very special and if I have to I'll fight to keep you."

"I don't think you'll have to fight for me. I'm not going anywhere." She smiled and looked down at her hands.

"I want to apologize for hurting your feelings the other day... I didn't ever want to hurt your feelings but you asked me questions and so I had to be honest with you."

"I know, I realized that after I left and was able to think about all of the things that were stressing me out. Thank you for being honest with me... I really do appreciate that. I'm really trying to forgive you and move past what happened."

"It won't ever happen again." Hans sighed, visibly defeated from his mistakes and promised to himself and Elsa that he would never repeat any of his past mistakes or make any new ones.
