It had been days, almost a week, since Hans had Elsa moved and Elsa was still sleeping. She was healthy still, hydrated and fed normally.
Elsa felt herself trapped in this darkness, she felt like it went on forever no matter how hard she ran, looked or even tried to find an exit to all of this. While searching through this eternal darkness she felt everything become lighter and with the heaviness lifted off of her the darkness became brighter and brighter until finally she opened her eyes. She looked up at the ceiling, not recognizing it, she sat up in bed and realized where she was. Why am I here? Elsa asked herself.
"Hans?" She called out, her voice was hoarse and quiet. She clambered out of bed, tossing the blanket onto the bed. "Hans?" She cried out and opened up the door to their honeymoon house. She looked all around, walking down the creaking steps and saw that he wasn't here either.
She looked around for food or water, anything to make these hunger pains go away. When she found nothing but crackers and smaller snacks in the house she decided to slip her shoes on and head out to look for a small lake. She looked down at her clothes, thankfully she was wearing a light green dress that covered her body fine enough to go outside.
"Hans?" She asked again once she was outside. Still no response. Elsa walked out to a small shed beside the house and grabbed a small bucket to carry back the water. She turned in every different direction but couldn't see any source of water. Suddenly a small blue ball began dancing around near a tall oak tree, the blue ball formed into what looked like a small fairy, only dancing in the same spot. "A wisp." Elsa smiled and tracked after them, one by one they'd disappear then appear a little farther back. Elsa continued to run like a child after the small wisps when she heard her name being shouted then a tall body slammed against her, throwing her to the ground.
Elsa quickly looked up to see Alan on top of her, clutching at his stomach where an arrow was shot through completely. He was groaning in pain and Elsa quickly looked up, seeing a black shadow running away through the trees.
"Alan?" She asked, holding him to her. "No," She shook her head while his eyes seemed to flutter shut. "Alan, I need to take you back to the house."
"Elsa-" He muttered, starting to spit out a little bit of blood.
"No, shh, don't speak." Elsa said and began lifting him up, draping his arms around her body.
She struggled to get him back to the house but thankfully it wasn't too far down. She stumbled into the doorway with him and laid him down onto the kitchen floor.
"I... I don't know what to do." Elsa cried and he gave her a small smile, grabbing her free hand and held it tight. "Please don't go. You can't."
"I'll- I'll fight for as long as I can." He whimpered and clutched at his side again. "Please take the arrow out." He choked and coughed on his blood and Elsa looked down at the where the arrow was shot into and tugged on it, making him wince and scream. "I don't care how bad this hurts, rip this fucking thing out, Elsa." He begged. "Please. Just do it quick."
"Okay, but Alan, I'm sorry." She said and grabbed the arrow near his chest, closing her eyes and ripped back, feeling his skin tear and the arrow came gushing out. She quickly grabbed a kitchen towel, pressing hard onto the wound and tried to make sure the blood wouldn't keep coming. "I'm so sorry." She whispered over and over again while he laid there in pain.
"Elsa, it's not your fault." He said, he was much more clearly spoken and the blood flow was slowing down.
"Alan?" Elsa asked after a long while of silence. "Why am I here?" Elsa asked, getting up off of the floor to grab bandages and a fabric cloth to wrap around him.
"You were poisoned with a sleeping drug. Hans wanted you safe." He said, holding the cloth to his stomach. "I need stitches, but I can do them myself." He said, propping himself up on his elbow.
"I was poisoned?" Elsa whispered. "How long have I been..."
"Asleep? About a week now." He said. "Hans is so sure that I did it. He had me locked up until you would wake up, but luckily I escaped."
"Why'd you escape if you aren't guilty?" Elsa asked, bringing over a whole kit of medical supplies and set them down beside him.
"Because Laila told me that they were planning on hurting you, I wanted to protect you. She tried to get me to help her." Alan gave her a small smile. "I don't think Laila did this. I saw the person, they were wearing all black."
"Do you know where Hans is?" She asked while handing him the things he'd need for stitches.
"He's running Arendelle for you." Alan said and began cleaning out the wound, flinching every time he touched it. "If he sees me here with you, he's going to flip out."
"Alan, I'm helping you. You saved me from that arrow, if he gets mad he'll have to deal with it." She stood up from her spot next to him and looked around through the windows, seeing if Hans was outside. "So you got out of prison?"
"Yeah, it wasn't too hard." He shrugged.
"Great. Looks like I'll be needing to fix up the jail." She said and noticed her hands and dress were covered in blood. "I... Will you be okay to go upstairs and lay down? I need to go take a bath."
"That's no problem. Do you have a guest bedroom?"
"Yeah, it's right up the steps. Do you need help upstairs?"
"Yes, please." He nodded and she helped him up onto her shoulder and helped him walk up the stairs.
"It's right in there." Elsa said and he nodded, walking into the guest room.
Elsa went into her bedroom, grabbing a purple floral printed dress and headed into their bathroom to take a long shower and to think about all that has happened.
