The servants began to fill their wine glasses with the best wine they could offer to everyone.
"Thank you." Elsa said to the servants once they were done filling their glasses.
"Everyone," Hans piped up and held up his glass in the air. Elsa smiled at him excitedly and was finally ready to tell everyone. "I'd like to make a toast to good health, a safe trip for the rest of guests coming in the next few days, and to all of my family to making it here safely." He finished and Elsa sat there dumbfounded. "Cheers, everyone." He said and clanked his glass with Elsa and Desmond, except Elsa just sat there and lowered her glass without saying anything. She really thought that he would have told them at the time or by now.
"Queen Elsa," Henry said and took sip of his wine.
"Yes?" She asked, trying not to look at Hans.
"We've all heard of what the council has said about your marriage and have you found any suitors?"
"Actually-" Elsa started but Hans cut her off.
"Elsa and I have an announcement." Hans said and held Elsa's hand tightly, Elsa noting to herself how sweaty his hands were and he was slightly shaking. "Um," Hans stumbled and looked nervously at everyone. "Hm, um, we're." He said and became shaky.
"We're engaged." Elsa said happily and there was a mix of happy and surprised gasps that went throughout the table.
"Thank you." Hans whispered to her and smiled.
"You're hurting my hand." She said with a small smile. He looked down at their hands and noticed how hard he was squeezing her hand.
"I'm sorry." He said and quickly loosened his hold on her but kept holding her hand. They both looked over to everyone and everyone was staring blankly at them.
"Congratulations, you two!" Susan grinned and sat there in her seat, barely able to contain her excitement. "I knew something was going on with you two." She said and Elsa and Hans smiled at her.
"I knew it, too." Laila said and glared daggers at Elsa.
"Anyways, congratulations you two." Henry smiled and raised his glass into the air. "Cheers to my son and future daughter's marriage." Everyone clanked their glasses together.
"Oh, Elsa! We'll have to talk about wedding plans!" His mother said excitedly and looked over to Anna. "You too, Anna." She smiled.
"I'll be happy to help." Anna said excitedly.
"Does the council know yet?" Henry asked, looking between Elsa and Hans.
"No, not yet but I'll be seeing them after dinner to schedule a meeting time." Elsa said and took a small sip of her wine.
"Sounds good. When do you plan on having the wedding?" Henry asked and looked at Hans then Elsa.
"I'm not sure." Elsa said.
"I don't think I'd want to marry in the winter, I'd want to marry soon so it's nice out." Hans said to his father then looked to Elsa. "Maybe a beach wedding?"
"I don't mind it in the summer or winter." She said and smiled at him. "It's up to the council because they want me married as soon as possible." She shrugged and held Hans' hand lightly.
"Can I come with you to the meeting?"
"Of course." She smiled and saw Kai coming into the dining hall with a small letter.
"Queen Elsa." Kai said and bowed his head to her when he arrived at her side. "This is a letter from the head of the council, Lord Silas."
"Thank you, Kai." Elsa smiled and took the letter from him. She opened it quickly and smoothly without tearing into the letter or getting a small paper cut.
Queen Elsa,
I do apologize but the council isn't able to have a meeting tonight. Something important has come to our attention. We plan to have our meeting the day after Princess Anna's ball for her children. We hope to hear your decision and hope it's a good one.
~ Lord Silas
"What's that for?" Hans asked after Elsa closed it and gave it back to Kai.
"It was from Lord Silas, the head of the council, and he said they can't have a meeting tonight so we'll have to have a meeting the day after the babies welcoming ball." Elsa shrugged.
"Good. I get more time with you." He smiled and leaned forward and kissed her briefly. Elsa smiled and noticed all eyes were on them.
"Ahem." Elsa said and gestured towards everyone to Hans.
"Oh." Hans said and pulled away from Elsa. He straightened in his seat and his cheeks began to pink slightly.
"Love birds." Susan sighed and smiled down at Hans and Elsa sitting together. "Henry, don't you remember-"
"Oh, look!" Henry said and pointed over towards the doors, trying to avoid Susan's stories of when they were younger and 'madly' in love. "I'm starving." Henry said and avoided looking at Susan while she was glaring at him.
"Nice one, dad." Alan muttered.
"For dinner we're having a Thanksgiving feast, it's just today." The cook, Eli, said and proudly pushed in carts of the dinner and had the servants put them in the middle of dining table. Everyone started filling their plates quickly and eventually began conversing together and just enjoyed their meal.
Later that night a few people were drunk from wine and stumbling with words and drunkenness around the dining hall. Anna and Kristoff had already gone to bed, Hans was conversing among the brothers he got along with and noticed how Elsa was sitting alone and dozing off in a chair near the fireplace. Hans dismissed himself from the conversation and went behind Elsa's chair and laid his hands on her shoulders and massaged them lightly.
"Hi," He whispered near her ear and kissed the top of her head lightly.
"I swear you're a masseuse." She said and leaned into his fingers while they worked their magic. "Tonight has been draining."
"It's only nine o'clock." Hans said and stopped massaging her shoulders. He walked around to the front of her and bent down to her level on one knee. "Would you like to go to bed, my princess?" He asked and she opened one eye at him skeptically. "My queen." He smiled and corrected himself.
"Yes, but I hope it's not rude that we're going to bed so soon."
"No, not at all. Everyone here is either tired or drunk." Hans said and gave her a small smile. "My parents have already gone to sleep so have Alan and Laila, or at least I think they've gone to sleep."
"Okay." Elsa said and shuffled out of the chair and stood up next to Hans. She looked around at the few brothers left in the room playing darts, even Desmond had gone to sleep with Bash.
"Goodnight, everyone." Hans yelled to everyone left and wrapped his arm around Elsa's waist, pulling her closer to him now that he could finally be close to her around everyone.
"Get some!" Stefano yelled to them and thrusted his hips through the air and laughed obnoxiously, slapping Evan on the back.
"Oh my gosh." Elsa said and turned bright red, keeping her face low and she tried quickly to leave the room before another sexual comment could be made.
"I apologize for them." Hans muttered once they were out of the dining hall. "They're just drunk." Hans said and Elsa gave him a smile.
"I know, it's okay." She said and held his hand to reassure him. "I might get a bath, even though it's late."
"Mm," Hans said and shrugged. "I have a better way to spend tonight." He smiled and picked Elsa up bridal style and brought her into his bedroom.
