Chapter 27 - Tour in North America / April 1974

Roger's POV

On April 7th, the boys and I embarked for the United States of America, with Mott the Hoople. We are excited, then, we will tour the Land of Uncle Sam. During the plane trip, Brian and I discussed the whole time, because he would not accept that I had asked Emily in courtship.

"Damn Roger, I do not like this girl and you're not in love with Emily either, you're just staying," Bri said.

"I really do not like Emily," I said, trying to change the subject.

"For me you did it just to provoke Mandy, but I do not understand why." Freddie smirked mischievously.

"You're crazy, Freddie," she told him, rolling her eyes.

- Freddie is not crazy, I agree with him - Smiled Deacy - You were enraged to see Mandy and Mike kissing yesterday.

The Mott the Hoople boys laughed and agreed with Freddie, Bri, and Deacy.

"You're drunk, that's all." "I told them to flip through a magazine, trying to fool you.

"Do not do things you can come up with," said Freddie, laughing heavily, almost choking.

I closed the magazine tightly, remembering the kiss between Mandy and Mike.

Amanda's POV

The month of April is going fast and Queen is with Mott the Hoople in the United States of America. From time to time the boys call me, saying that the tour has its ups and downs. Roger does not talk to me. It's Sunday, April twenty-first, and I told Cynthia I'm having lunch with Mike. Since the night of Kensington Tavern, Mike and I have been out three times, but as friends, at least on my part. I do not want to get involved with Mike and I hope he understands this. We exchanged a few more kisses, but I do not want to deceive you.

Around noon and a half he passed the building and picked me up and went to a Brazilian restaurant. Mike and I talked a lot about our studies at the MSc while I do a Master's degree in Music Journalism, he has a Master's degree in Political Journalism. He wants to leave the magazine soon and who knows how to work in a reputed British newspaper, such as The Sun, The Mirror, The Daily Mail, etc. He is learning to speak German and I French. We talked also work in the magazine and how Olivia is an executioner.

"Our boss is very crazy," Mike laughed. "Olivia is very crazy, ambitious, and dangerous.

"I think so too," he said, having lunch. "I'm very careful with that woman, she's not trustworthy. She told me she sent a journalist and photographer to the United States to follow the Queen's tour schedule. Reporter hole, for sure.

Mike laughed and so did I. After lunch we went to Hyde Park and strolled a bit. The afternoon was not cold, but neither was the heat. We sat on the grass and saw people laughing, playing, dating, walking, cycling.

"Mandy, I need to confess something from the bottom of my heart," he said.

At that time I froze. What will Mike want to confess to me.

"Say it, Mike, I'm listening," he said, looking at him.

"Mandy, I do not know how to start, but I'm attracted to you, we've even kissed a few times and I'm in love with you and I do not know how to deal with that feeling. "He said to me and I sighed and what I feared really happened.

"Mike, I really like you, you're a very handsome boy, nice, sincere, my friend, if I kissed you a few times it does not mean I'm in love with you, you know?
