48) Principal Smith

Heaven
I had just gotten kicked out of class yet again. I walked into the office and the secretary stared at me. "What is it this time Heaven" she says. "Mr. Barnes doesn't like me as soon as I walked in he was like Heaven say one word and you are out so I didn't say anything til he asked the class a question and I was going to answer when he told me to get out" I explained to her. "Now where is Principal West" I asked.

"Oh you didn't know we have a new Principal and he is in his office" she says pointing to the door. I walked up to the door and I knocked and a man answered it. He wasn't to tall brown skin. "Yeah can I help you with something" he asked. The Secretary walked up behind me. "Oh I'm sorry Mr. Smith I meant to tell you this is Heaven one of our regulars in the office always getting kicked out of class" she explains. "Listen lady you can chill with this attitude you have towards me" I said to her with attitude. "Well Heaven step right into my office thank you Ms. Moore" he says. I walked in his office and sat down. "Explain to me what happened" he says walking over to his chair and sitting down. I told him the story and well he didn't do anything. He wrote a note and sent me back to class. I already can't stand this dude.

The end of the day finally comes and I had track conditioning. After my track conditioning I was waiting on my parents to pick me up. Soon hours had past and I was about to walk home until I saw Principal Smith. I didn't want to talk to him so I tried to hurry away from him but it didn't work. "Hey Heaven what are you still doing out here" he says walking over to me. "Um it's honestly nothing" I said still trying to walk away. "Do you need a ride home or something" he asked me. "No I'm fine I can walk"

"I looked at your file and it says you basically live across town" I heard him express. "Yeah it's pretty good exercise to walk"

"Come on I wouldn't want anything to happen to my students"

"Fine" I said. He walked me over to his all black Jeep. I got in and I sat on my phone as he drove away. I gave him my address and he headed in the direction of my house. "Why were you outside at almost 8 at night" he asked me. "Uh my parents probably forgot about me again" I said lowly.

"Why would they do that"

"Because they are workaholics that don't pay attention to their kid" I expressed in anger and sadness. "Is that why you get in trouble for attention"

"Maybe it is maybe it isn't can you just drop me off please and stop with the questions" I yelled. After that he said nothing.

After weeks since he found out about my situation at home he has me on an internship where I work in the front office. "Hey Mr. Smith if a person has more than 60 infractions would they get suspended" I asked. "It depends on the infraction"

We been in his office just asking random questions honestly. The bell rang for the end of the day and I headed to practice.

After practice I walked up to the parking lot. Nothing. And as most nights Principal Smith drove me home. As we were in the car we talked about a lot of stuff and rapped along to the music playing then we pulled to my house I got ready to get out then I turned around and he kissed me. I was in shock but I kissed him back. Then I pulled away. "Uh um uh I gotta go" I said rushing out the car. I walked in the house and sat in my room thinking about what just happened.

Days after that it seemed kinda awkward between us. When I went to his office today I didn't say anything. I was doing homework when he said something. "Are you ok ya know from the other night" he asked while leaning back in his chair scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah never been better"

We talked everything out then that was it. I guess I like him after all.
