It was a lovely Sunday and everyone happened to be at the 9:30 Sunday morning service watching Yn's father preach. Yn as usual sat in the front row being attentive of her father as he preached. Well everyone thought she was being attentive to her father she was really making googly eyes with the new Youth minister Algee Smith.
Service finally came to an end 11:15 and they were told to stand and bow their heads. They all stood as Yn's father leads the prayer. She bowed her head like everyone else but as the prayer went on she kept taking quick peeks at Algee.
The church finally ends and everyone starts going around the church.
Yn After the prayer I grabbed my bible and everyone comes up to me telling me they loved my dad's sermon. Next thing I know I see Sister Ri'Chard. This woman that didn't age well and wears too much makeup who has been trying to get with my dad since my mom passed a few years ago.
"Hey Yn God is good" she says with a smile and I returned back the smile. "All the time" I say.
"Yo daddy sure did put his life into that sermon today didn't he"
"Yes ma'am he sure did"
"Yeah but that's nothing new he surprises me every Sunday where is he anyway"
"He got called to quick meeting downstairs with the pastors" I responded really wanting to get out of this conversation. "Oh well Yn sweatheart I have been wanting to know if you are 20 years old why are you living with your father"
"And I was wondering why that was any of your concern" I snapped back. "No need for the attitude God don't like ugly especially in his house and when you come to the Lord's house dress more appropriate" she says with an attitude.

I didn't respond because I heard someone. "I think her choice of clothes shouldn't matter the bible does say come as you are" I turn around seeing Algee. "Oh Minister you really have nothing to say about this"
"No I don't actually but you shouldn't judge Sister Ri'Chard now have a nice rest of your morning" she rolled her eyes. "You both do the same matter a fact let me go speak to your father right over there Yn" she rushes over to my dad leaving me chuckling with Algee.
"She's never gonna stop is she" he says. "Honestly I doubt and she's going to tell my father like me and him didn't leave the same house this morning"
"Yeah she's gonna keep doing this every Sunday though but today's sermon what did you think"
"I thought it was good the devil can catch you unexpectedly"
"Yes"
"Hey Algee I see you remember my daughter Yn" my father walks up putting his hand on Algee's shoulder. "Yes sir I do"
"Yn we will be done soon and Algee how about you come have brunch with us"
"Yeah that sounds fine with me as long as Yn is ok with it"
"Of course I'm perfectly fine with it" I say with a smile. "Alright meet me at the car in 30 minutes" he says kissing me on the cheek and walking away. "Where is brunch this brunch"
"Usually I'll cook but today I told my dad I would take him to IHop"
"Ok I'm alright with that but I have to go speak to some more people so let me know when y'all get ready to leave" I nodded my head as he walked away.
Jesus why did you make this man so fine. I thought to myself.
As everyone left and people came in for a later service I cleaned up a little then headed to the car.
We got in the car and headed to IHOP. "Sister Ri'Chard said your clothes were not appropriate today. What does that woman have against you again?" My dad says.
"I still haven't figured that out yet" we reached the restaurant going inside and being seated at a booth. I say next to my father while Algee sat in front of me.
We were talking and my father suddenly had to go to the restroom leaving me alone with Algee. "I'll be right back y'all Yn order for me if the waitress comes" my dad says as I help him out of the booth. "Alright daddy I'll order but I'm ordering what I want you to eat"
"Whatever it don't even matter anymore" he says resulting in me and Algee laughing. "He don't like you ordering for him"
"Nope not one bit because I order him the healthiest thing on the menu he can't stand it but you know I wanna keep him healthy so he gotta deal with it"
"Yeah and he is lucky to have you around" Algee says while sliding his hand over to mine. "What do you want Algee"
"A date" he says with a smile. "Hmm I really have to think about that"
"Girl you better stop playing with me I saw you during prayer today"
"Saw me doing what"
"Making them eyes at me you know you want me" he says. "Well take that date up with my father" I say.
"She says yes she will go on a date with you" I heard my father say. "Really what happened to you can't date til you 57" I say mocking his words. "Well this situation is different"
"How"
"Algee here first off has a little crush on you second off works at the church makes decent money and ain't bad looking he is simply the kind of guy I'd want to give my daughter away to"my father explains. Algee blushed which was so cute. "Alright then I'll go on this date then"
"Ok great y'all kids have fun remember no premarital sex" my father says leaving the table. "Did he just do that" I asked and Algee nodded his head.
Could y'all imagine Sundays like this need to come more often.
