Hello. Though it's not required, I would recommend reading 'Cory Jenner's Journal' up until the chapter titled '194 AZ' so you can know the character's backstory and the character herself a little more before the events of this story take place. Again, it's not necessary. You can still read and comprehend this story well, I believe, without reading 'Cory Jenner's Journal' first. I just recommend it so you can develop alongside Cory. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.***

(DAY 194) I'm still at the CDC, and it's been at least a week now that I've been here, longer since I left Woodbury. Phillip probably has a team out looking for me, so I've been trying to break into the CDC, you know, since it's tightly locked up and they'd never be able to find me there. Of course, because of that, I myself cannot find a way in. The past week's been a vicious cycle of screaming at the cameras and doors to unlock then giving up and going back to this truck to hide from the geeks I attracted.
I miss technology. I miss being able to listen to music in my room and sneak out through the window to meet Merle at his truck and go out drinking with him, Daryl, and Clark. The bush under my window was lopsided from trying to sneak out when Chad and Denise would fight, but Chad never noticed. I don't miss them anymore. They never did anything to deserve it. I still miss Michelle a lot, though. I still hope to see her again someday, but it's already been 6-some months and I haven't seen a trace of her anywhere.I might be starting to miss Woodbury a lot now. Phillip treated me so well, even after what happened on 151 AZ. I mean, he did have that meltdown Titus told me about, but he still never laid a finger on me or yelled at me like that, like Chad would.
On a brighter note, I have a good feeling about today. I'm gonna try again to break in or talk to whoever is inside again. I decided that this time, I'll try to tell them a little about myself rather than demanding entrance so they'll sympathize and maybe finally let me into safety before someone finds me. It's starting to get dark now, so I should probably get going.
Signing out,
Corynn Elaine August (Jenner)
>>>I closed the now-ripped notebook and roughly shoved it back into my travel bag, zipping the bag up and throwing it on my back. I glanced around me, checking for dangers. As far as I could see, there were at least 10 or so geeks limping around the courtyard, too close to the truck for comfort. It didn't feel like a good time to try out my new plan, but I knew the geeks weren't leaving anytime soon.
As quietly and stealthily as I could, I pushed the truck door open and slid out. I decided to leave the door open so I'd have a quick escape route if I needed it. I pulled my knife out of my pocket, holding it in front of me in preparation. This wasn't my first time trying something this dumb.
The familiar sounds of groans filled the humid air around me, getting even louder as I approached a stray geek a bit away from the rest. With a quick jab, I punctured the back of its skull, backing up as it fell to the ground. My already blood-covered converses squeaked when I stepped in the forming puddle of blood, and of course, all of this warned the other geeks that a threat had arrived.
The three nearest me started struggling toward me, growling angrily when I started distancing myself. One of the three picked up enough speed to get a little closer than the other two, which gave me enough time to stab it, shove it out of the way, and keep backing up. I checked behind me quickly, confirming that I wasn't going to walk straight into another geek. Knowing all the danger was in front of me, I jogged back to the truck and jumped into the bed, searching fiercely for my baseball bat. Once I found it, I dropped my knife and replaced it with the bat. Once the geeks starting getting close enough to hit from the bed of the truck, I began swinging like a madman.
