(DAY 038) Not much is new here. Woodbury hasn't changed much. Well, not at all actually. But Martinez and I became run buddies. Phillip sent us on a run to find more food and weapons if we could. We just got back an hour ago. We couldn't go far because some cities nearby are still occupied by unaware people and we aren't supposed to spread the news of the disease. They want to try to contain it before people figure it out to avoid society breaking apart and chaos forming. I think it's dumb, but I also kinda get it.Aside from that, Phillip and I went on another date last night. It wasn't much. We just had dinner at my house. I made lasagna and we drank a little, but it was nowhere near as much as our first date. He slept over, and Hannah and Conner attacked him again in the morning just this morning. Titus woke up and brought us coffee, and Phillip started getting all jealous because Titus was being nice to me. He left a little abruptly after that, saying he had stuff to do. I thought about chasing him, but changed my mind and just talked to him after Martinez and I got back from the run.
I found him in his office, looking through a photo album. When he heard me come in, he turned around to see who it was and quickly turned around again. I realized he was crying and my heart broke for him. I hugged him and asked him what was wrong, and he just told me that he missed his daughter and his family and how things used to be. I told him that I did too, that I missed my sister and even though Chad was an asshole, I was starting to genuinely miss him, and even Denise. I decided to mention that I had two really important friends that left before I could find them, but I never gave any names or specific details. Then we just laid in bed for a little while until he calmed down.
I learned something today. Phillip told me that he was so glad to have me in his life. I asked him why, and he said that he never had someone in his life that ever comforted him while he cried or talked to him and listened to his problems. Out of instinct, I told him that I was the same way - never had someone to listen to my problems, only to realize that I did. I actually acknowledged one specific example of Merle listening to my problems in this journal.
We laid together for maybe an hour before he remembered we both had things to do, and I left, came up here, and wrote this. Now I'm about to head out with Karen.
Signing out,

<<<It was about 5:45 in the morning when we finally got to our destination. Titus rounded the front of the car, coming to help me get out to the best of his ability. Once I finally stood up straight, I shut the car door, and we walked toward the gates. This was the first time either of us faced these gates since we left, over half a year ago. It didn't feel like the same gates, either, and there was a good reason why.
The gates were busted open. It looked like a large vehicle had driven straight through. As we walked into the town, I saw the culprit, the vehicle that likely did the damage, was sitting right inside. I had no clue who would've done something like that, to break into a civilization that was no longer standing. It wouldn't have been any of my people or any of the people we had brought home from Woodbury. Maybe it was Phillip himself.
The further we walked in, the more I was disturbed by the sight of our old home. The gate wasn't the only thing destroyed. Nearly every building down the streets was burnt to a point of no longer standing. The arena was pretty much gone. The shops, the bar, and all the homes... they were all ruined entirely. Not only that, but the streets were covered in trash and walkers roamed around aimlessly.
