Chapter 51: I've been waitin' for twelve years.

(1-350 AV --- 715 AV) I know it's been a while since I've said anything. It was 1-319 AV last entry. Last entry was also when I decided to change my format up, but that's irrelevant. A lot was going on back then and I'm grateful to be able to say that things have calmed down. It's been busy but it's gotten better. Just like Deanna told us, there was going to be an after.

We got the full story as to what happened during those few days of catastrophe. For one, things hit the fan in Alexandria when half the group was out, leading a herd away. There was that group of 'Wolves' that took out a chunk of our people, then Spencer's whole rope contraption and the herd that built up outside the walls. Where I left off, that was it. Right after, it got so much worse. The wall busted and the herd filled the town. Everyone took refuge in their homes to barricade themselves while some of us tried to fight. Shane and I took a break for the armory and ended up meeting up with a bunch of others at the Anderson house. Deanna had gotten bit, Ron and Carl got into a fight that ended up busting open a garage window and leading walkers into the house. We had to form a plan to get out by covering ourselves in walker blood and marching straight through the herd. After a mild fight with Rick and Shane, they actually let me participate.

Of course, the walk out of the house resulted in worse things. Shane was scratched and while we attempted to relay the news to Rick at the front, Sam got eaten alive in front of his mother, who then stopped and allowed herself to die. Ron was distressed and picked up a gun to shoot Rick, so Michonne killed him but he fired off a bullet that hit Carl in the eye. I can confidentially say that both Carl and Shane made it out alive, but the Andersons didn't and neither did Deanna. We lost people in our town, and on the outside with the walkers at the quarry, it was no better.

Daryl explained what happened in full detail. One of the barricades holding the walkers in the quarry had failed and they had to start up the plan early with no real preparation. It had supposedly gone well until a loud truck horn signaled half the herd to head to Alexandria, and it was soon settled that it was obviously the from the guy that Spencer had shot and left to hit the horn. That had been the cause of the herd, which I really should've guessed. Besides that, they lost people in their mission to lead the walkers away but it was done in the end. A few, like Sasha, Abraham, Daryl, Glenn, and Nicholas, had a bit of trouble.

I learned from Glenn that in all the trouble, Nicholas had given up and shot himself, which sent him on top of Glenn, down into a literal swarm of walkers surrounding them while they were hiding on a dumpster. Glenn had nearly died because of this but crawled and stayed under the dumpster for nearly a day before Enid arrived and the two headed back to Alexandria, right when the herd was entering the town. As for the other three, it went a little different.

They got the other half of the herd away and all, and it was well until another group of walkers cut them off, resulting in Daryl getting split up. He seemed iffy telling me the rest but I learned that a group of three, Dwight and Sherry who were married, and Sherry's sister Tina, had taken him in or something, telling him about this group that they were running from. Daryl was helping them but Tina was bit by a walker and died, so Dwight and Sherry jumped Daryl, taking his crossbow and the motorcycle. It wasn't Merle's motorcycle. That thing was gone with the prison, but Daryl had worked on this motorcycle since we got to Alexandria and had been half of why he kept being absent all the time. To say he was pissed is an understatement. They took two of the things that really mattered to him.

Daryl ended up finding Abraham and Sasha and they had found a military vehicle with a bunch of supplies. Before getting home, they ran into a group of men on motorcycles that threatened to kill them but Daryl blew them up with the same RPG he used to set the town's pond to flames. I've pieced that maybe those men are from the group Dwight and those girls were scared to run into, though I don't really know what happened.
