(DAY 671) We're officially staying in Alexandria. It's been a few days since we got here, and things have been going pretty well. Since my last entry, Rick got his hair cut, Daryl and I have been getting along better, and I haven't even talked to Shane, other than the argument we had when I left their house. That's not important, though. I decided to keep myself from stressing over stupid stuff like that.Yesterday, I went around town and met some people that live here. I met the Anderson family (Jessie, Pete, Ron, and Sam), and talked to a girl named Olivia. I met Denise, a woman who helps in the medical field, basically assisting Pete, the town surgeon. I met Deanna's husband, Reg, and her sons, Spencer and Aiden.
Speaking of, Deanna returned my journal, and she told me that she thinks I'm missing a photo from in between the pages, and after inspecting, I realized she was right. In entry 146, there was a picture of Phillip and a picture of me from one afternoon at his house, but the one of me fell out of my journal at some point. It's a wonder Rick didn't notice when he read it way back when, honestly. I don't really care, though. It's not like we need any more pictures of me in my own journal.
Deanna still hasn't given me a job, either. It's only been a day or two, but the majority of the group got their assignments. Michonne, Rick, Shane, and I are a few that haven't, and maybe some others that I haven't talked to, but I don't know. Glenn and a few others went on a run this morning, though. They should be back soon. Rick's out looking at the perimeter, too. I've been inside since I woke up. Titus made breakfast for the five of us, and it was delicious, and Daryl and I talked a bit about how things have been, the way he distanced himself after what happened to Beth. I think we're relatively back to normal now. I was gonna show him the photo of our son that I got from the hospital, but I decided I might as well wait to do that until we're ready to discuss everything that needs to be discussed in that region.
I'll have to cut this short. Glenn and the other run people are back and it looks like something's going down.
Signing out,
Cory Jenner
>>>I shut my notebook and stood up from the dining table, quickly slipping on the new pair of shoes I had been gifted, ones that were more comfortable for my swollen, pained feet. I didn't hesitate to take off in a gentle jog for where something seemed to be escalating, right near the gates. People were already arriving on site as Glenn and Aiden seemed to be yelling at each other.
By the time I arrived where everyone was gathering, I could see Aiden swing at Glenn, Glenn dodging it and sending his own fist back into Aiden's face. Aiden hit the ground, and just then, Rick and Michonne arrived on site. Daryl went to tackle Nicholas when Nicholas advanced for Glenn, those two ending up on the ground as well. Rick quickly went to diffuse the battle, whatever the hell was going on, as I found my way to the lot, hearing Michonne tell Aiden off.
I shouted out over Deanna's pleas for everyone to stop, myself rather frustrated and out of breath from the run, "Why... why are you fighting?"
All of the people involved in the fight seemed to go silence simultaneously. Deanna looked at Rick, who was holding Daryl back from attacking someone else. The whole run team, consisting of Aiden, Nicholas, Glenn, Noah, and Tara that were still around, all stood there with nothing to say for themselves. It was a moment later when Glenn finally responded.
"They had walkers tied up out there. One got loose and attacked, so we killed it, and they're pissed about it."
"That thing took one of our people before," Aiden defended, heavily breathing. "It deserved being tied up."
