The doorbell rang, 4:30 pm sharp. He jumped up, nearly ran off but before Tyler had even reached the hallway, he heard Joshua's smooth caramel voice already. And then his mom's. Shoot.

"Tyler, Joshua is here!" She yelled towards the living room. He straightened his shirt and took a deep breath, and then carefully stepped into the hallway. He couldn't help it but smile when he saw Joshua standing there waiting for him. His black skinny jeans disappearing into rough boots, a thick wintercoat with fake fur on it's hood and bright pink curls peeking from underneath a grey beanie.

When Tyler notices his mom and Joshua caught him staring he blushed. "H-hi."
"Hey Ty. Ready?" Tyler nodded, and strutted over swiftly to get his shoes and coat.
"Have fun boys. Don't be too late Tyler, tomorrow's a schoolday." His mom walked out the hallway, leaving them together.

"You look so cute", Joshua smiled.
"Y-you like it?"Tyler mumbled, while trying to get into his new boots. Maybe he bought those because they reminded him of Joshua's, maybe not. Joshua just hummed affirmative.

Once Tyler was dressed warmly, scarf up to his ears and hands put away in soft gloves, he smiled. "Ready now!"
They walked out, Joshua opening the door on the passenger side of the car for Tyler to get it. It made Tyler go all flustered, and he chuckled because of the cute gesture.

He hopped into Joshua's big truck and buckled up, watching Joshua walk over to the drivers side. A tiny moment of happiness washed over him, for a second all his nerves and worries and insecurities were gone and all he felt was pure happiness. Pure happiness because that beautiful boy (or man) wanted to take him out on a date.
He couldn't understand how that was even possible.
