Tyler woke up, at least a million times that night. When he finally passed out, he would be harshly brought to life again everytime his body subconsciously slightly tried to turn underneath the sheets.
Eventually it was almost 7:30am and Tyler couldn't bare staying in bed any longer, since now his legs and back were aching too because of him not moving all night. The second he attempted any kind of move to sit up, his hand flew towards his chest and he bit back a yelp of pain. He tried to push himself up with his arms, didnt work, he tried to sit up again, didnt work, he tried to roll to his side, didnt work.

His eyes filled with tears, this time not because of self-pity but purely because of the actual pain in his ribs. He gave up for a second, trying to reset his irregular breathing. He needed painkillers. Badly. But to get to them, he needed to actually get out of bed. So while biting through the pain, be shuffeled his feet towards the edge of the bed, with a deep groan rolling to his side befor pushing himself up with his arm. He squeezed his eyes shut once he sat, quick and shallow breaths puffing out as he let the pain slowly settle again.

He read the leaflet for the painkillers thouroughly before taking what he could and washing it away with water. He slauntered back to his room, waiting for them to kick in, reluctant to sit down or get dressed. So he just shuffeled around, grabbing his phone and reading Joshua's last text again.

Joshua
Only two more nights and i'm going to hug you and kiss you and not let go of you for days 💛

Tyler
I'm going to keep you to your word on that 💛 I miss you

Joshua
Hi baby, goodmorning! How are you feeling today? Did you sleep well? I'm going to be home soon, can't wait. And I promise i'll keep my word 😅.

Tyler swallowed thickly. He didn't want to lie but he really didnt want Joshua to know what happened either. He thought his last warning towards Dallon had settled everything, at least for a bit, and Tyler was scared he was going to freak out if he knew about this.

Tyler
I'm okay. Good luck at your last day of training. Hope you have fun 💛💛💛

Joshua
Thank you sweets!💛 you have a good day, relax, have fun. Take good care of yourself xx💛

Tyler waited longer, about thirty minutes before he felt the painkillers kick in. He got a little drowsy but pushed himself away from the windowsill he was leaning on, to get showered and dressed. Still not painfree, but definitely more comfortable, he managed to take off his shirt once he dragged everything into the bathroom. Just now he hadn't thought about the fact that with the pain, there would be bruises too. It wasn't as black and blue as his face had been, but his sides and ribs were covered in purples and dirty blues.

He quickly looked away from his body, it had never been his favorite to look at. In his eyes he was scrawny, there were no muscles to be found, only skin and bones and a tiny bit of pudge on his stomach. Shapeless. He shifted his gaze back to his face, he didnt dislike it as much as the rest of him, but it wasn't like he loved it either. His nose, his eyes, his lips... nothing was really remarkable, just so plain. He touched the little red scar in his eyebrow as he was somehow reminded of Joshua's sweet caramel voice. The man had told him he was pretty. Beautiful. Gorgeous even, if Tyler remembered that right. What did he see? And why couldn't Tyler see it for himself?

Tyler undressed further, waiting for the water to warm up before he got in. He sighed softly when the warm water hit his back. He closed his eyes as he tilted his head back and the water splattered on his hair. His mind drifted off as he enjoyed the warm water, only until his mind stumbled upon the memory of showering with Joshua. Together. He could barely believe it had happened. Had it? Maybe he had only dreamed it? That sounded way more credible, even though Tyler knew very well it had actually happened. The boy washed himself and his hair as he thought back at that moment. He felt heat pooling in the pit of his stomach when he remembered what he had actually done, and in a split second he shut off the water and shook his head. No. He couldn't think about that right now.
