Tyler didn't fully remember how long they had been sitting there, in front of the stereo, but Joshua had at least listened to his song for 4 times. He was perfectly fine there, even though he wasn't a big fan of hearing himself sing. But having his arms wrapped around Joshua for once, in stead of the other way, made him feel really mature and proud. Joshua's praises towards his song and mostly about his voice helped too.

Eventually his knees and legs got a little sore though and he unwrapped himself slowly. Luckily somewhere during the second time listening to the song Joshua's tears had dried and a warm smile was there on his lips for the rest of the time. When Tyler stood up, Joshua seemed to remember he had a gift too. "I feel a bit silly about my gift now..." Tyler chuckled. "Y-you didn't s-sing f-for me?" Joshua laughed as he followed Tyler back to the couch. "No, gosh, I wouldn't do that to you." Tyler shrugged a little, "I l-like y-your voice."
"Hmm... Unfortunately that doesn't mean I can sing", he winked playfully.

"Anyway, your gift. I hope you still like it", he spoke softly as he put a small box with a big red ribbon around it in the boy's hands. "I got another thing, but open this one first."

Tyler carefully untied the bow and opened the little white box. His eyes grew wide when he saw the little shiny beads in the box. He wasn't actually too sure what it was though, and Joshua noticed. The man gently took the box. "It's a Shambala bracelet", he explained. "It represents love and freedom, every different type of stone or color in it has its own meaning." He gently got hold of Tyler's wrist, while the boy watched him carefully. He knotted the bracelet with precision, while continuing to explain. "I picked a white one, because it stands for healing the body, mind and spirit and it represents thruth, openness and kindness. I think it suits you." Joshua smiled up to the smaller boy, letting go of his wrist.

Tyler stared at it for a while. "You like it?" Joshua asked, after probably a minute had passed. Tyler nodded. "I-I love it." He gently ran his fingers over the beads. "Thank y-you so much", he whispered. He couldn't believe Joshua had taken the time to pick something that was so carefully matched with his personality. He hugged Joshua tight, still watching the bracelet as his arms crossed around the mans neck. "I r-really love it", he whispered. "And you." Or maybe he thought those last words...

They were cuddled up on the couch a bit later, Home Alone playing on the tv (again, it was christmas right?), Tyler comfortable laying against Josh's chest.

"You should do something with your singing, Ty. It's beautiful. And you play ukelele and piano? It's amazing", Joshua said as his hand found its way back to play with Tyler's hair. "Like, make your own songs?" Tyler wondered why Joshua asked, almost like he suspected something.

"I-I have", the boy answered so very softly, because he didn't want to lie, but also kind of didn't want anyone to hear. "You do?" Joshua questioned, not asking too much because of how he felt Tyler getting tensed. "Hmm", the boy replied, hoping Joshua wouldn't continue to ask. For now. "That's amazing, Ty. I'd love to hear one, one day." He twirled Tyler's hair around his fingers, sending little shivers down Tyler's spine.

"D-do you play d-drums f-for a long t-time?" Tyler was curious to find out more about it. "I guess", the man shrugged. Tyler softly nestled his cheek against Joshua's gentle heaving chest, playing with one of the buttons of his shirt. "I started playing a while after my dad died." He sighed a bit. "I was 16, and I didn't know how to deal with what was happening. I was angry. Like all the time. Just so extremely angry. At everyone. Everything." Tyler just tilted his head so he could look up to the man, not sure if he should say anything, or what. He felt so sorry for him, heartbroken that the sweetest person on Earth had to deal with so much pain.

"I started going out pretty much every night of the week, picking fights with everyone who even annoyed me the slightest bit. Chewing too loud, walking too slow, whatever. Everything was a reason to fight with someone and let all the anger out. Until I picked the wrong person to fight with and I ended up in hospital with 4 broken ribs, a broken arm and a concussion. I threw up for three days straight and I felt like shit."
The boy gasped a bit, feeling so bad for how terrible Joshua must've felt when all of that happened. "Not to mention the number of times I had to make a run for it, to keep away from the cops. 'M not really proud of that."

"And then my sister made my grandmother buy me a basic, second-hand drumkit. My grandmother was kind of deaf anyway, so she didn't care. Ashley told me to get my anger out on that, and stay out of trouble, she didn't want to get hurt more than she was I guess." He chuckled softly "and surprisingly it worked. I actually liked it, spending all my nights drumming in the basement, in stead of going out. Then when I moved out, I met Brendon and we started making music together."

"M s-so sorry you had to g-go through all t-that. B-but it's good you started p-playing the d-drums. Y-you do s-so well and it s-suits you." Tyler said, then accidently opening one of the buttons on Joshua's shirt he was playing with. His cheeks filled with red warmth immediatly, his fingers quickly fumbling to close the button again, his mind distracted by the pale skin showing behind it.

Joshua just started laughing, the boy shaking because of the laughter rolling through the man's chest. "You could at least kiss me first, before undressing me", he stuck his tongue out towards the boy. Tyler only flushing more, eyes growing wide, goosebumps forming on his arms hearing Joshua laugh. It was so pretty. "I'm just kidding", the man laughed, his curls bouncing on his forehead. "You can, of course, kiss me", he winked and he sat up a bit to pull Tyler closer.

Tyler was still shy about this, rather have Joshua kiss him than the other way. He wasn't confident enough to take initiative. At least not yet. Joshua knew, and leaned in further to press his lips to Tyler's shortly. Only after a few seconds he pulled back suddenly. "Oh, the other christmas present! I almost forgot!"

The man's enthusiasm made Tyler smile. "It's nothing huge, but I got tickets to go see Blink 182... and I really want you to come with me... if you like? They have been my favorite band forever, and always been my inspiration to keep going, keep making music. I'd like to share that with you."
Tyler nodded, even though he was anxious about being in a large crowd of people again. "I promise you, it's you and me, and I won't let go of you, okay? I never want to see what happened then again.." his voice faded into a whisper, the guilt still dripping from it.
"I w-would love t-to g-go", the boy smiled.

"There is one more thing though..." he smirked at Tyler, the boy's stomach churning in anticipation. "It's a 3 hour drive and I booked a hotelroom to stay the night. So you are stuck in a room with me, for a whole night", smirk still in place. "So if you're up for that, keep the weekend of January 12th free." Of course the younger's cheeks flushed, but he was so excited. He couldn't wait to be away with Joshua for a weekend. Just the two of them on a roadtrip, just the two of them (and the rest of the crowd) at Joshua's favorite band, just the two of them in one hotelroom.
He bounced up and down on the coach, exclaiming an excited "YAY!" Before letting his arms drop around the man's neck and he kissed him on his cheek, giggling shyly. "I c-can't wait."
