A loud slam of the front door made Tyler jump back, just before his mother walked into the kitchen. He quickly wiped his cheek with the back of his hand, erasing any possible trace of the sweet bubblegum kisses.
"H-hey, momma!" Face all pink again, from nearly being caught. His mom didn't even notice really, so used to the boy's cheeks warming up.

"Hi boys, the decoration looks amazing outside! Thank you for your help Joshua", Tyler's mom started.

"Thank you! We had fun, right Ty?" Joshua swung his arm around Tyler's shoulder, pulling him closer and smiling wide. Tyler just nodded shyly, face flushing even more and now his mom did notice.
"I can see", she answered, while winking at the shorter boy. Joshua laughed, Tyler rolled his eyes.

"I do have to go now", Joshua's voice filled the kitchen and Tyler just wanted to pout immediatly. He didn't want Joshua to let go of him. Yet. Ever. But the bubblegum hued pulled back his arm after a little squeeze.

"Thanks for all your help Joshua!" His mom spoke toward Joshua as he made his way out of the kitchen, Tyler following him like a lost puppy. "Any time, mrs. Joseph", the man smiled politely.

At the front door Tyler just stood there bouncing on his feet watching Joshua get back into his boots and coat. And just the last second before his mom walked out of the kitchen, the man pressed a loving kiss to his forehead.

"I'll see you soon, Ty." Tyler chuckled and hid his cheeks behind his hands, nodding happily. He waved one last time before closing the door behind Joshua.

His excitement must've radiated from his face, because his mom smiled at him suspiciously when he dropped on the sofa next to her. He tried not to look at her, but he couldn't get the smile from his face.

His mom pulled him closer, mimicking Tyler's smile. "Looks like my boy got his first crush, hm?" Tyler giggled, but nodded softly.
