Kelly's eyes were fixed on her son, a slight frown on her face, as they were almost ready to get to church that sundaymorning. Tyler just got back home, and he quickly tried to drink his tea. She didn't say anything for a long time, just kept examining him and he got really uncomfortable.
"What??"
She put down her coffee, a tiny bit of amusement on her face, but with a serious feel.
"Tyler. I know it is none of my business, but I guess it also kind of is."
Tyler had no clue what she was going for, and it showed on his face.
"I just want to make sure, you know... Are you and Joshua using protection? I mean I bought you the condoms f-."
"MOMMA", Tyler choked out, nearly spraying his tea over the table as he jumped up. "STOP!"
"No, Tyler, it is okay." She gestured for him to sit down again. "You're a young adult, I have to accept it's going to happen anyway." She smiled softly. "But I just want my dear boy to be safe, okay? Believe me, I do not want to know any details, just want to know you are being careful."

Tylers cheeks nearly melted off of his face, wishing he would actually melt, dissolve into the furniture. Only the idea of his mom, thinking about him being with Joshua like that was so embarrassing he could die. "We didn't even do that", he mumbled, not looking at her, hands around the mug he was intensely staring at. His mom frowned again, but smiling afterwards. "Really hm.. well, something happened." Now it was Tylers turn to frown again.

She leaned towards him a bit, a finger pulling down the collar of his button-up. "I know hickeys, Tyler", she chuckled. "Once you got your tie on it probably won't show." She laughed when she saw Tylers eyes grow wide. How did he not know? He jumped up, ran towards the bathroom mirror. He pulled down his collar, gasping as he saw the little purple blotch on this throat. He ran his fingers over it, it definitely reminding him of his boyfriend and last night. He quickly grabbed his tie, immediatly fixing it just right to hide the little bruise.

Tyler was back at school that Monday, eating lunch together with Mark, his sort-of-friend. They never spoke outside of school, but at school they found each other, since they both had nobody else. Mark was a nice kid, bit quirky but Tyler quite liked that. He did have plenty of friends, but they all went to a different school, so at here he settled for hanging out with Tyler from time to time.
