Tyler really looked forward to their date. It was a date. Joshua said it. A date.
Tyler had about one more hour before Joshua would pick him up, but he was already dressed and ready. And a bit nervous. But a good kind of nervous. He wasn't to fond of surprises, but Joshua had proven last time that his surprises were really good. So Tyler wasn't so nervous about that, it would probably be nice.
He was just always a bit nervous around Joshua even though he was really comfortable at the same time. He didn't trust anyone else in the way he trusted Joshua. But still he was just a little anxious. He just really wanted to do well. For Joshua to like him, even though that felt so unlikely, it appeared to be true.

His mom walked into the livingroom while drying off some plates. "So, what's the plan for today?" She asked. "H-he didn't tell", Tyler shrugged. "Oh. A surprise." Tyler just nodded.
"Just give me a text if your home late...", she grinned and ruffled her hand through his hair. He quickly swatted her hand away as she continued, "... or not at all tonight." She chuckled.

"Momma, r-really? P-please stop d-doing that, will you? I k-know how y-you feel about t-this, just s-stop pressuring it okay?" His mom walked around the couch fast to drop down next to him. She got hold of his hands. "I'm sorry Tyler. I didn't mean to do that." She looked a little embarrassed and Tyler felt bad for telling her, while she was only being supportive. He just needed her to not be so... persistent about it. He needed time, it wasn't easy for him.
"I k-know momma, and I'm r-really trying but I can't d-do that so fast. O-or easy." He smiled at her.

She nodded, rubbing her thumbs on the backs of his hands. "I know sweetheart. I think I went a little overboard with my 'support'. It just makes me so happy to see your face light up around him and just wish all the best for you, and-."
"I k-know. And I r-really need your support, b-but maybe slow d-down a little bit." He shyly looked down at their hands.

She crushed him in a tight hug. "You are absolutely right Tyler. I'll behave", she winked. Tyler laughed. He was glad his mom understood, he really needed that.

He watched the clock. 30 more minutes.
