FAG

It was written in huge pink letters all over the front of Joshua's house. The wet paint was still slowly dripping down the walls. Shattered glass crunched underneath Tylers boots once he forced himself to get up, only then noticing that he had been leaning in it. A soft red spot soaked through his army green pants, growin bigger while he watched. He shrugged it off, he didn't even care.

FAG
An insult. A threat.
Broken windows. A broken bench. Drawn dicks all over the wall.

Tyler didnt know what to do as he slid down the balustrade of the porch. This was his fault.  He tried to wipe the tears off his cheek with the back of his hand, but they got immediatly replaced with new ones. Everything was his fault. He dragged Joshua in to this and now he wasn't safe either. It was his fault. Joshua would be mad at him. He should be.

——

Joshua grabbed his phone, yawning because this last hour in the store on mondays was always so terribly slow. He only then noticed the message from Tyler from about 10 minutes ago.

Tyler
I tried to stop them i'm so sorry. please don't be mad. I'm so so sorry.

His heart skipped a few beats when he saw it. What was he talking about? Them? What-?Without thinking it through, he hit the 'call' button and pressed the phone against his ear. He bounced from one foot to another, his eyes shooting through the store nervously. It rang forever, Joshua only then reminded by Tylers anxiety and he sighed softly. Just in case, he let it ring a couple of times more anyway. Maybe he would pick up. Joshua just felt like this was possibly serious and he really needed to know what was going on. After forever a silence fell.

"Tyler?"
"Y-yeah? H-hi"
"Baby whats wrong?"
"P-please don't b-be angry!"
"Ty, I don't even know why I would possibly be angry. C'mon talk to me."

He knew he had to be careful with what he said, Tyler obviously very upset. But he needed to know.

"Y-you need to c-come h-home now."

Joshua let go of the breath he had been holding, biting the inside of his lip. Really, what was happening?

"Baby, i'm at work I can't just leave? Just talk."
"N-no, b-but you really have t-to!"

Tyler sobbed softly. He sounded scared. Was he hurt?!

"Tyler."
He knew he probably sounded too harsh, but Tyler gave him nothing, no information at al. All he got as an answer was a tiny little whimper.
"Are you hurt?"
"N-no, but..."
...
"Baby... whát?"
"Y-your house. T-they... damaged it."

Joshua jumped up, walked to the store's doors to lock them. He had checked by now the whole store was empty and he turned the sign on the door to closed. He'll explain to his boss later if he had to. Even though he was the shops manager it didn't really mean he could close early.

"Baby, stay there. I'm coming okay?"
"P-please don't be m-mad"
"Did you do it?"
"N-no! O-ofcourse not! I-I would n-never!"
"Exactly. Ty, i'm at my car i'll be there in 5 minutes."
"Oh o-okay."
"Loveyou."

He didn't wait for Tyler's answer as he jumped into his car, shoving his phone in the pouch of his hoodie. He realized that for Tyler he may had been to hard in his answers but he didnt mean to. He just need to know more. Joshua quickly drove off, getting home as fast as he could. His mind was trying to come up with whatever happened, a billion possibilities passing by. He just hoped it wasn't really bad, and this was just Tyler's heavy interpretation of things.
