"Cheers to you getting your new apartment." Kevin said, holding up his beer. Scott copied Kevin's action and the two clinked their beers together before taking a long sip. "The Omegas seem to like the balcony pool." Kevin said, pointing towards the balcony where Mitch and Kirstie were playing in the water. Avi was beside the bar-b-que pit, cooking burgers and sausages. Matt was keeping a watch on the two in the pool.
"How'd you afford this?" Scott snapped out of his trance and looked over.
"I'm paying it off every month, It'll be done by December I'm hoping. Military perks." Scott replied.
Kevin chuckled. "Yeah military does help out but I'm pretty sure they can't help pay off something this nice."
"Who knows. Oh, Mitch wanted me to ask you guys if you wanted to move in. We have like three extra rooms."
"Sounds nice. I'll think about it, talk with the others. This apartment is much too big for two people to live in by themselves."
"Guess I didn't think that through." Scott chuckled. He then stood up from the steel bar stools he had bought the day before and motioned to the balcony. "Come on." He drunk the rest of his beer and left it on the counter before opening the sliding door and walking onto the patio.
"Alpha! Come join us!" Mitch called, raising his hand which sprouted water every which way. Scott grinned eviliy and kicked off his flip flops, while stripping off his shirt and diving into the pool. He swam over to Mitch and grabbed his waist while pulling him down into the water and going to the deeper end of the pool. He then realized how much Mitch was struggling to get out of his arms and swam up to surfce, holding Mitch close.
"Hey, calm down, baby, what's wrong?" He breathed out. He pushed Mitch's wet hair back and carassed his face.
"I-I'm sorry, Alpha. I- I just don't know how to swim deep. I got scared a-and."
"Hey, it's alright, baby. Come on, hang on tight." Scott manouved back to the shallow end and handed him off to Kirstie who was still standing, seeing as she didn't know how to swim in the deep end either.
"You okay, Mitchie?"
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shaken up." Mitch replied.
"Let's get out of the pool for a bit, yeah? I'll grab you both some towels." Scott said, guilt heavy on his chest as he climbed out of the pool and went back into the penthouse, not caring that he was still dripping wet.
MItch stepped out of the water and sat in one of the lawn chairs, crossing his arms and rubbing them as he shook. He jumped when a towel was placed along his shoulders and felt the chair dip in behind him.
"I'm sorry about that, Omega. I should've asked you if you could swim before that. Forgive me?" Scott mumbled, drying off Mitch's torso and squeezing the water from his swim trunks.
"Of course. I'm not mad at all, it's just." Mitch took in a shaky breath. "N-nevermind. I-I don't want to say it right now."
Scott grabbed Mitch's arm before he stood up and turned him to the side, hooking his fingers under Mitch's chin and tilting his head. "Talk to me tonight about this, alright?"
"Yes sir." Mitch stood up and grabbed one of the other towels Scott brought and carried it over to Kirstie who was still in the water. The Omega climbed out and took the towel gratefully, rushing over to Kevin afterwards. Scott watch Mitch go into the penthouse and upstairs, a heavy sigh escaping his lips. He looked over to see Avi staring at him and shook his head before following Mitch.
-
Scott entered Mitch's room and saw the trembling boy sitting cross legged on his bed, Kirstie's dog in his lap. "Mitch? Can we talk now?"
Mitch nodded and scooted over, Olaf jumping from the bed once he smelt the food Avi brought in downstairs and ran out of the room. He hugged his knees to his chest. Scott sat on the empty spot next to Mitch and held out his hand. Mitch grabbed it and linked their fingers securely.
"Tell me what's going on in your mind, baby." Scott cooed.
Mitch inhaled deeply. "As a kid, I lived near a public pool. My father was always drafted, my mom wants in the picture. My baby sisters let me venture off on my own so I would swim in it everyday, trying to learn how to do properly. I wasn't paying attention and I accidently made it to the deep end. I didn't know how to float good enough so I sunk to the bottom. I was in the middle of the pool, I was afraid of opening my eyes and getting chlorine in them so I didn't know which direction to scramble in."
Scott brought Mitch onto his lap as soon as he started trembling and rubbed his shoulders.
"It was nearly too late when I got to one of the walls, I pulled myself up it and made it to the surface. Once I did so and got air in my lungs, I saw one of my Alpha sitters coming towards me. He pressed a foot to my head and kicked me back to the middle of the pool. I sunk again and blacked out. Next thing I know, my Omega friends from the neighborhood are around me."
"They believed one of the life saver people when they said I fell off the diving board. One of the other guards had saved me." Mitch shrugged and picked at his nails. "I haven't swam since."
"I'm so sorry, Mitch."Scott whispered.
"You don't have to be. It's in the past." Mitch breathed out, his hands shaking.
Scott's lips formed a straight line and he brought his hands to Mitch's waist. Mitch took in a sharp breath and he flinched away from the touch. Scott grinned evily and he scrambled his fingers quickly. He heard Mitch's loud screeches and laughed.
"Alpha! No!" Mitch darted out of the room and out into the hallway, accidently taking a wrong turn and backing himself into a corner. Mitch squealed when Scott caught up to him and continued to tickle him mercilessly. Once Scott stopped, he reached up to grab his face and pressed a long kiss to his lips. "You always know how to cheer me up." He chuckled.
Scott's heart fluttered and he slid his hand through Mitch's cholorine stained hair. "Let's go eat and we'll share a shower. How does that sound?"
"Sounds good." Mitch bite his lip.
"Watch that mouth of yours, Omega. You do things to me." Scott dared.
"Maybe that's what I want." Mitch chuckled then grabbed Scott's hand to lead him downstairs.
