Scott accepted the coffee Avi came by with, and the doctor came in just a second after that, calling out to the waiting room.

"Hoying?"

"That would be me." Scott stood up and walked over. "Is he okay? Is the baby okay? What's going on?"

"The surgery was successful but we do have some bad news. Due to all the tearing inside his cavity, I'm afraid your Omega will not be able to carry any more babies."

Avi snapped his head up and tears automatically filled his eyes. "Wait, you have to be joking! H-He was going to mine and Matt's surrogate, please tell me you're joking."  He said.

"I'm sorry, Alphas. There's nothing we can do about it. Mitch is in the last room to your right if you'd like to see him, just be gentle with him."

Scott had to sit down to process what the doctor told him and he set his hands in his hair.

Avi saw Matt coming from the bathroom and he rushed over, engulfing the black man into the tight hug, Matt confused, but holding Avi anyways.

"Scott, go see him. I'm sure he needs the support." Kevin said, rubbing Scott's shoulder. Scott nodded, wiping his tears away before going down the hall. He knocked on the door before walking in the room. He walked over the opposite side of the room and pulled back the curtain. he sat on the bench by the window and set his coffee down as he stared up at Mitch who was still waking up.

"Hi, love."

"The doctors told you?" Mitch asked, holding out his hand.

"Yeah. They told me." Scott reached forward, grabbing Mitch's hand and rubbing his knuckles comfortingly.

"I'm sorry... If we just came to the hospital like you said, maybe it wouldn't have happened." Mitch said, his chin shaking as tears welled up in his eyes.

"Hey hey hey, don't blame yourself, love." Scott stood up, holding Mitch's face in his hands and wiping away any tears that fell. "It's not your fault, it's no one's fault that this happened. Do not blame yourself for this."

Mitch nodded, grasping Scott's wrist and rubbing the joint with his thumb. He was kissed gently and Scott pulled up one of the wheely chairs to the bed and sat down.

Scott held out his hands and showed off the bruises Mitch caused. "You're a lot stronger than I thought, Omega."

Mitch giggled, rubbing the bruises gently. "Sorry 'bout that."

"Where is the baby?"

"They're giving him his vaccines right now. Did you think of any names?"

"I really like Noah," Scott said. "I was told my parents had named me that but I refused to respond to it."

"You've never told me this story," Mitch said, interested in a story of Scott's past.

"You know how I was dropped at the military as a baby?" Mitch nodded. "The note that came with my little basket said my name was Noah Hoying but growing up, I never responded to that name, I refused to go by it. The man who found me and took care of me, his name was Scott, Sergeant Scott Tarah. He had died in the war when I was five and I just wanted to live up to his legacy and who he was as a man so I wanted to start that by going by his name." Scott said with a smile.

"That's nice." Mitch smiled. "I like that name, Noah Hoying. It has a nice ring to it."

Scott leaned forward, kissing Mitch's forehead. "Well, the others and I have to leave. We'll be back bright and early in the morning. I promise."

"I love you, Alpha," Mitch said, holding onto Scott's hand as he stood up and grabbed his coffee.

"I love you too, Omega. Get some rest, it's late. Text me if you need something." Scott said, pulling Mitch's phone from his pocket and setting it on the table next to the bed.

-

"Is that him?" Scott asked as the nurse brought in a baby swaddled in a green blanket. He stood up, meeting the nurse halfway.

"That's correct." The nurse set Noah in Scott's arm gently. "Support his head, there you go. There's your perfectly healthy baby Alpha."

"He's an Alpha?" Scott grinned, looking down at Noah with teary eyes. "Thank you for taking care of them."

"You're welcome, sir. Please don't be afraid to call us if you need anything." The nurse walked off and Scott went back to the bench where he was at, watching Mitch as he slept. The door was knocked on again and he looked up, grinning when he saw Avi and Kevin coming into the room.

"Where's Matt?"

"They wouldn't let more than two more people in here," Kevin said, walking over and sitting next to Scott and holding his arms out.

"Noah, our baby Alpha." Scott smiled, carefully putting Noah in Kevin's arms.

"Wow, he looks so much like Mitch." Kevin turned, showing Avi. Avi smiled awkwardly and he glanced up at Mitch, his smile falling. Scott noticed the turn in mood and he took Noah back. He stood up then walked over to Avi's opposite side, setting the baby in his arms.

"I know how you feel, Avi. I'm sorry Mitch can't be yours and Matt's surrogate." Scott said, rubbing Avi's shoulder. Avi stared down at Noah and he couldn't help but smile while tears went down his face.

-

"Hey, you." Scott came back into the room to see Mitch still laying in the bed but wide awake. Mitch carefully rose the bed so he was sitting up but still not putting too much pressure on his bum.

"Hi, Alpha. You brought flowers?"

Scott looked down at the round vase of flowers in his arms. "Yeah, I went back to that class and made it for you. I know how much you liked them." Scott walked over while kicking a chair over. He sat down and handed the vase to Mitch.

"Thank you, Scott. I love it." Mitch set the flowers on the table to the opposite side of the bed along with the gifts from Kevin and the others as well as Nicole, Austin, Ryland, Shane, and Morgan.

"Maybe I should've gotten something else?" Scott chuckled awkwardly when he saw the other flower bouquets and cards.

"No, it's fine, really." Mitch turned a bit on his side to face Scott. "It's the thought that counts."

Scott scooted closer to the bed and he leaned down, pressing his lips to Mitch's forehead.
