"Mitch?" Scott knocked on Mitch's door before walking inside. He flicked on the light and looked around the empty room, humming when he didn't see his Omega. He turned around and jumped when Mitch was behind him, a towel on top of his soaking wet hair, another around his waist. "Oh, there you are."

"Were you looking for me?" Mitch asked, stepping around Scott into his room. He went to his dresser and fished out some boxers. He stepped into them then set his towel aside.

"Yeah. I just needed to talk to you." Scott watched as Mitch walked around the room while drying his body and hair. The Omega tried to walk out of the room with his basket of dirty clothes but Scott set a hand on Mitch's chest to stop him from walking before he did so. "Just- come sit on the bed."

Mitch dropped his hamper and sat on the bed next to Scott. "What is it?"

"About last week-" Scott started.

"The condom?" Mitch finished.

"I-"

"I'm not as stupid as you think, Scott. We've been together for almost 5 years, I can tell when you're lying."

"Mitch, I only lied because I freaked out. The condom didn't even cross my mind and I didn't want you to be mad at me anymore so I lied."

"I understand." Mitch stood off the bed and grabbed his hamper.

"Mitch, that's not what I wanted to talk about." Scott stood up and readjusted his crutches as he walked over to Mitch. "I think... I think we need some time apart..."

-

"It's only for a few days. Maybe more, we're not too sure." Scott handed Cody over to Kevin and stepped back.

"Are you sure you two want to do this?" Avi stepped out of the house and peeked around the corner to see Mitch coming over with the three-seated stroller.

"I think it's for the best. Five years being together. I think a little time apart will do us some good. Especially with all that's happened." Scott rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Just, take care of him for me, alright?"

Mitch excused himself and walked inside the house with the stroller, Avi following behind him.

"Are you going to be alright at the apartment by yourself?"

Scott shrugged. "I'll manage."

-

Scott hobbled into the apartment and went directly to the living room, his eyes scanning the mess left by the kids. He got down on his knees in the middle of the room and collecting what he was able to in one arm full.

He reached out for the toy hamper and three the blocks, barbies, and toy cars into the bin. He crawled to the playpen and put the bin inside of it before reaching for his crutches and standing up. He crutched over to the kitchen and opened the freezer, placing a microwave dinner box under his arm before going to the microwave. He heated his dinner, threw the box and wrapper away before setting it on the island behind him.

Scott jumped when a strong rumble of thunder sounded through the sky, just barely shaking the walls of the house. He climbed onto one of the stools under the island and picked at his food with his fingers.

-

Mitch leaned against the cold window sill, his head resting against the glass. He heard a flicker in the living room and turned his head over, seeing Kevin lighting up some candles.

"Just in case the lights go out," Kevin said, placing one of the round candles in front of Mitch's feet. Mitch stared at the moving flame, his eyes relaxing as he practically felt the heat emitting from it. He took off his sweatshirt and shoes, tossing them to the living room before shifting to his wolf.

Mitch walked in a circle around the sill before laying down, his rump against the cold window and his head curled around the candle.

"Careful Mitch, don't burn your fur," Kevin warned. Mitch jumped when crying came through the baby monitor and jumped off the sill, making sure he didn't knock off the candle before hurrying to the guest room. He jumped onto the bed where the kids were sleeping and crawled around them before laying at their feet.

Quinn cried and sat up then crawled over to the brown wolf, touching his fur before laying against him. Cody woke up when Quinn was crying and followed his sister, Bailey eventually crawling over. The three laid against the wolf and each other, whimpering quietly.

Kevin walked into the room and smiled at the sight of Mitch and his babies curled up in the middle of the bed and walked to the bedside to shut off the dim lamp. He then grabbed a blanket from the closet and tossed it over them, then pet Mitch's head.

"Night, Mitch. Sweet dreams."
