"Alpha? Are you almost ready?" Mitch called from his room, taking in his outfit in his mirror. He slipped off his cardigan and threw it on the bed before grabbing a thin jacket. He zipped it up halfway. He turned to the side and blushed, seeing his stomach sticking out just barely. He fluffed his jacket so he looked slimmer then grabbed his phone, tucking it into one of the pockets of his jacket as well as a paper he left on his nightstand. "Alpha?"
Mitch headed out of his room and jogged to the opposite side of the hall. He knocked lightly before walking in. Scott looked up from his phone and held up a finger. He covered the speaker and faced Mitch.
"Go ahead downstairs, love, I'll be there a minute."
"Yes, sir." Mitch blew Scott a kiss and the blonde returned it.
Scott waited for Mitch to leave to return to his call. "Are you sure?"
"Scott I'm sure. The ring is there. The- the prosthetic. The limo driver is on his way and he'll give you the box. Avi will leave soon. My question is, are you positive that you want to propose now?"
Scott took in a breath. "I'm positive. I'm tired of waiting. I don't want something to happen and I don't get the chance ever again. This is the best opportunity for me."
"Alright, you go get your hubby. I'll text you when Avi is on the way."
"Thanks, Kevin. I owe you one." Scott locked his phone and got off the bed to tuck it away. He grabbed his crutches, heading out of the room and down the stairs. He saw Mitch on the couch, his leg in the air so he could rub his calf and ankle. He grinned when Mitch hopped to his feet and ran over.
Mitch waited patiently for Scott to reach the bottom of the steps to grab his arm. "Are you going to tell me where you're taking me?"
"Nope." Scott grinned and leaned down, kissing Mitch's cheek. "You'll find out on the way."
"It is getting dark so I'm hoping it's something romantic." Mitch grinned, following Scott to the elevator.
-
"Ladies first." Scott allowed Mitch to climb into the back of the limo. While he was situating himself, Scott turned to the limo driver, waiting for them to get in. "Do you have it?"
"I do. I'll take your jacket, put it in and give it to you once we reach the location. Sound good?"
"Yes, thank you. Mitch? Do you want to take your jacket off?" Scott asked, bending down carefully to look inside the limo.
"Please." Mitch slipped off his jacket and handed it to Scott. Scott handed his and Mitch's jackets to the driver then climbed into the limo the best he could. The door shut and Scott scooted closer to Mitch, grabbing his hand and earning his attention.
Scott gave Mitch a smile and leaned forward, giving Mitch a kiss. Mitch smiled and leaned his head on Scott's shoulder, linking their connected hands when the limo started to drive. Halfway through the drive, Scott leaned forward, grabbing the provided wine bottle and twisting it open. He grabbed two of the glasses and felt Mitch grab his arm.
"I don't want any, sir."
"Oh, are you sure? It's the good kind." Scott asked.
"I'm sure."
"Sparkling water? It can look like white wine." Scott asked, putting away the wine and grabbing the bottle of sparkling water.
"Sure." Scott poured the two the water and handed one of the glasses to Mitch. He rose his glass.
"To..." Scott thought for a moment. "The best Omega I could've asked for. I love you, happy birthday, love."
Mitch giggled when Scott skipped the drink and went right to give him a kiss. He leaned forward to where he was practically on top of his Alpha to deepen the kiss. Scott opened his eyes briefly to set his and Mitch's drinks aside then grasped the Omega's waist, pulling him close. Mitch was the first to pull away, his thumbs rubbing Scott's cheeks as he stared at him.
"I love you, Alpha. Thank you for doing this for me tonight. I couldn't have asked for more." He smiled gave Scott another longing kiss.
"I love you too, Omega. I did this all for you. Wanted to see you the happiest especially on your birthday." Scott then jumped when the limo parked. "Come on, love. We're here."
Mitch climbed off Scott's lap and sat beside him. The driver opened the door and waited for Mitch and Scott to get out. Mitch climbed out after Scott and gaped at the flower garden in front of him. "Alpha... What is this?" He whispered. When Scott didn't reply, he turned and saw Scott taking his jacket from the limo driver.
"Hold on, love. Sorry." Scott subtly stuck his hand in the pocket of his jacket before grabbing Mitch's from the driver. He helped Mitch into his jacket then thanked the driver before leading Mitch into the rows of different colored roses. "Any idea?"
"All I see are a bunch of roses, Alphas." Mitch giggled, he and Scott slowly sauntering through the flowers that were lit up by the rows of neon lights under the bushes. Occasionally, he'd see several other couples passing by.
"Well, I knew how much you loved flowers, looking at them, smelling them. You hate walking through fields of grass that have growing flowers." Mitch chuckled to himself. "I just thought it'd be nice to take you through a little walk-way of flowers. You even have a concrete pavement to walk on so you're not ruining the flowers. I even have a gift for you before we leave here."
"Oh, we're going somewhere else?" Mitch hinted.
"I never said that. Stop trying to find out your surprises." Scott felt his heart flutter at Mitch's laugh and he stopped before they passed the next row of blue roses. "Before we go to this, I want you to know, I did my best to plan this and if you don't like it, we can leave. I want you to be as comfortable as possible."
Mitch rose an eyebrow then glanced through the arched doorway. "What'd you do?"
"I know we don't have the best luck eating out but I wanted to take the risk. There's a dinner going on in the middle of the flowers. I know you don't eat much meat but I really wanted to try something at a remake at our steak dinner."
Mitch felt tears in his eyes and he couldn't help but let one fall. He stepped forward, wrapping his arms around Scott's torso. "You're the best, Alpha."
Scott kissed the top of Mitch's head then pushed him a bit to see him. "Don't cry, love. You're going to make your eyes swell up." Mitch smiled and dabbed his eyes with the sleeves of his jacket.
"Come on, let's get seated."
