Just a little update before bed.
"How did your Omega bring you back?"
"I don't know, to be honest, Officer. I just heard his voice and he refused to let me go even though I was hurting him. It was only a matter of time I snapped out of it and saw what I was doing to him."
"May I ask if this has happened before?"
"It hasn't, no."
"Well, thank you, Sir. We'll take the body into an autopsy and see what we can find from him and his pack." Scott nodded and backed out of the way when the paramedics walked out of the house with what was left of the intruder's body. He felt a low rumble in his chest but he heard Avi coming downstairs and turned to him.
Avi glanced over at the couch where Mitch was being tended to by another set of paramedics and he walked over to Scott. "How is he? How are you?"
"We're both fine."
"Scott-"
"I'm fine." Scott went over to the couch when the paramedics were done and he sat down, putting his crutches to the side and allowing Mitch to crawl onto his lap. The brunette happily nestled against Scott's chest, shutting his eyes and falling asleep quickly.
"We're going to pick the kids up from the babysitter. Are you two alright alone?" Avi asked as Matt came out of the kitchen after cleaning up all the blood from the kitchen floor.
"We'll be fine," Scott replied, grabbing a blanket from the head of the couch and throwing it over Mitch's body. He looked up at Avi with half-lidded eyes.
"Alright, call if you need something."
The door shut harder than Avi had meant to and it made Mitch jump then whine, curling up against Scott's chest. Scott gently grasped Mitch's arm and ran his fingers over the gauze. He then leaned forward, kissing the taped cotton pad on Mitch's forehead.
"How are you feeling, love?" Scott asked, bringing Mitch closer to him.
"My arm hurts." Mitch tried to get into a more comfortable position but furrowed his brows then looked up. "Can you lay down? I'm not comfortable." Mitch stood up and whimpered when his head throbbed. Scott laid down and scooted against the back of the couch, patting the empty spot in front of him. Mitch pressed his back to Scott's front, blushing when Scott wrapped an arm around his torso, his large hand protectively covering his bandaged arm.
-
"Ow!." Bailey babbled and ran over to Mitch to fall into his arms. Mitch smiled and picked up Bailey. "Ma!"
"Yes baby, Mommy has an ouchie." Mitch cooed, going back to the couch and sitting down, holding Bailey in his lap.
"Is your arm alright?" Scott crutched over, Quinn hobbling behind him. He sat down next to Mitch then reached down to pick Quinn up and hold her.
"I can manage." Mitch scooted over since Scott had sat a distance away and leaned against his shoulder.
"Dada! Ow!" Bailey squealed as she looked up at Scott with her widened blue and brown eyes.
"Ow!" Quinn repeated loudly.
Cody ran over and slapped his hands against Scott's knees. "Ow!"
Avi pushed the three seated stroller into the corner of the living room and set the diaper bags on the coffee table. He then walked over to Mitch and lifted up his arm. "How is it?"
"It's fine, Avi. Really, I'm alright." Mitch said. Though he was still woozy from the blood loss, he did his best to stand up with Bailey and go to the kitchen to find some food. Scott flinched when Quinn stood on his thighs, reaching up to grab his face. He groaned and held her at a distance, making funny faces at her to make the Alpha giggle and kick her feet in excitement.
Mitch returned with crawling behind him and he held a bowl of watermelon cubes. He then winced and pressed a hand to his forehead when he sat on the couch. Scott looked over and grabbed Mitch's hand.
"Love, why don't you go sleep? You can't be up and moving around after all that blood you lost. It's not good and you can hurt yourself very badly." Scott said.
"I'm fine. Just need to sit down." Mitch leaned back against the couch and shut his eyes, taking in deep breaths.
Avi rose an eyebrow. "Why don't both of you go on to bed? We can watch the kids for tonight. It'll be good for you two to relax." He suggested, Matt raising his own eyebrow as he walked over.
"No, we can't ask for that. You've already been watching them for so long and-"
"It's been two and half days, Mitch. We'll be alright. Go on to the guest room." Avi watched as Scott grabbed his crutches and Mitch stood up, his face scrunching up as the two went towards the room. "And Scott, remember, no sex. You'll trigger yourself into wolfing out again."
"Whatever, Dad." Scott shut the bedroom door behind him and went to the bed and sat down. He set his crutches aside and stripped down, kicking his stump out before laying on his side.
"Hold on, I need some water," Mitch said, leaving the room and returning with a glass of ice water. He took a few slow slips before setting the cup on the nightstand and crawling over Scott to lay next to him.
The two laid on their sides, facing each other. Mitch scooted forward to be closer to Scott and he got comfortable before throwing the blanket on. Scott grabbed Mitch's arm, his hand covering the bandages.
"Alpha... " Mitch whispered when he saw the hurt look on Scott's face. Scott leaned down, kissing Mitch passionately before leaning their foreheads together.
"I love you, Mitch." Scott said, kissing Mitch's temple before pushing him back and staring him in the eyes.
Mitch smiled sheepishly and crawled forward to nestle himself against Scott's chest. "I love you too, Scott."
