"Sir, you okay?" Mitch asked when he walked into his and Scott's room. The blond was sitting on the bed, one hand tangled in his hair, the other holding his phone.

Scott snapped his head up when he heard Mitch and shut his phone off, setting it on the bedside. "No... I'm fine."

"You sure?" Mitch shut the door and stripped off his shirt as he tip toed to the bed.

"Yeah, I'm sure, love." Scott grabbed Mitch's waist and kissed him gently before helping him on the bed. He took Mitch's shirt, balled it up and threw it across the room to the laundry basket. He shut off the lamp and turned over on his opposite side to face Mitch.

"You know you can tell me anything, babe. I'm here." Mitch said, scooting forward and pressing his hands to Scott's bare chest. His fingers toyed with his dirty blonde chest hair.

"It's a surprise. That's all I can say."

"Is it a late birthday present?" Mitch teased.

"You could say that." Scott leaned down and kissed Mitch's forehead lovingly. "I love you."

"I love you too."

-

"Don't you think that's a bit far?" Mitch asked.

"I don't know, Mitch... I just want to get out of the city, live in the suburbs, you know?"

"Yes, but there's so many homes close by..."

"We live above and around other people, I don't think it's be much a difference, love. I'll see if I can find anything a little more distant from the other houses."

"I'll go wake the babies and start on lunch." Mitch kissed Scott's cheek and manourvered off the couch then hurried upstairs.

Scott quickly called Kevin when Mitch was far enough.

"Yes?"

"Did you pick it up?" Scott asked anxiously.

"I did. It's beautiful I must say. I want to take it for myself."

"Kevin Hoying does have a nice ring to it." Scott joked, smiling when Kevin laughed.

"But yes, I have it and I'm on the way back to the house now. When do you plan on proposing?"

"I'm not sure yet. I don't want to do it while summer is still here. It'll be too hot to have the reception so maybe sometime around fall and-"

"Alpha! The pups are running!!" Scott dropped his phone and quickly grabbed his crutches, hopping over to the bottom of the stairs, first scooping up Cody when he tripped and rolled down the last few steps. He saw Quinn round down the stairs and picked her up before she scurried away.

"Where's Bailey?" Scott called.

"I caught her!" Mitch came down the stairs, holding the dirty blond wolf in his arms. He took Quinn and one of Scott's crutches, following him to the couch.

"They better grow out of this fast, I can't keep catching them everytime they run down the stairs." Scott picked up his phone, apologized to Kevin the hung up.

He set Cody on the floor and the puppy on the floor who ran to the living room where he and his sisters had gotten a basket of puppy toys for their birthdays. Quinn whimpered and barked until Mitch put her down to run and jump on Cody to play tug-a-war with one of the toys. Bailey waited patiently for Scott to sit on the couch go hop on his lap.

"What do you want for lunch, Alpha?" Mitch asked, skipping around the couch to hug Scott around the neck and kiss his cheek.

"Anything that's able to be used. You know I like your cooking." Scott smiled.

"I still can't believe it took you six months to get used to me cooking on my own." Mitch walked to the living room.

"I'm just paranoid, baby!" Scott yelled back. He heard Mitch giggled and he looked down at Bailey who turned over, exposing her stomach. He rubbed her soft belly, yelling out when she peed, getting it on her own fur and his legs.

"Mitch? Where are the puppy pads at?"

"They're upstairs. Let me grab them." Mitch said, setting down what he was holding and rushed upstairs.

"Bad girl." Scott scolded, smacking Bailey's rear end. The wolf growled then hopped off the couch, though Scott caught her mid air. "Oh no you don't. You're getting a bath."

"Did she pee on you?" Mitch asked, setting down a puppy pad by the other two baby wolves.

"Yeah, can you run her a bath real quick? I'll do the rest just get it started for me?"

"Of course." Mitch went to the guest room bathroom, Scott stood up and slid his crutches back on, managing to carry Bailey at the same time as he went to the bathroom.

-

Mitch jumped and squealed when he felt Scott's arm slipped around his waist. He giggled and leaned his head back, Scott kissing his nose.

"Hi, gorgeous." Scott grinned, setting his crutches back down and moving out of the way. Mitch set a grilled cheese onto a plate then moved the pan to the sink, filling it with cold water then letting it rest.

Mitch turned and reached up to  run his fingers over Scott's trimmed beard. "Hi, Alpha."

Scott smiled when Mitch leaned up and kissed him, his lips tasting of a new chapstick he had gotten as a birthday gift.

"Hmm, minty." Scott chuckled and took a step back.

"After lunch, the pups are going to want to play then nap again before dinner. Think we can take them to the park? Tire them out?"

"I'm not too sure, love. They keep shifting back and forth and I don't think we have enough diapers and spare onesies to keep up with that."

"True..." Mitch hummed, thinking to himself.

"They'll be fine in the play pen, Mitch. Come on, want help carrying those?"
