"You were supposed to be watching them!" Scott yelled angrily, Mitch staring Scott in the eyes.
"You were hurt, Scott, I freaked out and went to help you!" Mitch yelled back. "I didn't know what to do and I didn't mean for the kids to get kidnapped!"
Scott gripped Mitch's chin and pulled him up a bit, snarling lowly. "It doesn't matter if I was hurt, Mitchell. You were pushing the stroller so you were in charge of the kids. They were taken under your watch." He growled.
"Do you think I wanted for them to get taken?" Mitch snarled back, his eyebrows furrowing in anger. "I didn't know what to do and I got scared you fell over."
"I can take care of myself, Omega. I don't need you by my side every second of the day." Scott said, harshly as he let go of Mitch's chin, pushing him away as he did so.
"Fuck you," Mitch growled, pushing himself out of the stall and running out of the bathroom as he fished his phone from his pocket to call Avi.
-
"Where is he?" Scott asked, shoving his way past Avi who had opened the door and hobbling into the living room.
"It's none of your business, Scott," Avi said, slamming the door shut. "What's the matter with you? Blaming that Omega for a kidnapping that wasn't even his fault?"
"He was supposed to be watching the kids and he didn't do that!" Scott said, standing in front of Avi with deep red eyes.
"You were hurt, Scott. You would've done the same thing if it were reversed.
"The babies should come first, any time, anywhere. Anyone with a fucking brain should know that." Avi gripped Scott by his arms and turned him around, shoving him against the door roughly.
"Stop fucking insulting your Omega. It wasn't his fault and you have no reason to be treating him like this!" Avi shouted.
"You never even liked him, Avi! Why are you defending him?!" Scott snapped, pushing Avi away from him and leaning on his crutches.
"I changed, Scott. You wanted me to get used to him and I did so I'm defending him the best I can."
Scott rolled his eyes, "Where is he? I can smell that he was here, where did he go?" Scott asked again.
"He went to the police station with Matt and Kevin. Kevin told me not to leave so that's exactly what I'm doing." Avi said, locking the front door and forcing Scott to the couch. He took off Scott's crutches and carried them with him to the opposite sofa, sitting down with the crutches in his lap.
"Asshole move," Scott grumbled.
-
"You can see the man right here that bumped into your Alpha, was talking to the guy who took the stroller just minutes before everything happened." The Beta officer said, pointing at the mall security camera footage he received.
"So, it was all planned?" Matt said.
"Yes. Do you know anybody that has been stalking you or wants to get revenge on you recently?" The officer asked.
"Not at all, sir." Mitch shook his head.
Kevin thought for a moment and shook his head.
"Have anything to say, Alpha?" The officer asked.
"I was just thinking that several years ago my Omega was injured by a robber and died that following morning. He was never caught, but I don't think it's possible it'd be the same guy."
"Did your Omega, before she passed say anything about the guy who killed her?" The officer asked.
"Only that he had blonde hair. The attack was at night so it'd be hard for her to see anything. Though her wound was right above her abdomen so I'd say he was pretty tall."
The officer thanked Kevin and wrote several things down before standing up. "Thank you two, I'll contact you with anything we find right away." He shook hands with Kevin and Matt, rubbed Mitch's shoulder before walking off.
Mitch turned to Kevin and hid his face in Kevin's chest, breaking down immediately in sobs. Matt looked over and turned Mitch's back soothingly before standing up.
Kevin calmed Mitch down before standing up and helping Mitch to his feet. The three went back to Kevin's truck. Mitch was in the backseat, his legs pulled up and tucked to his chest as he tried not to cry.
"Mitch? I need you to put your seatbelt on before I can drive." Kevin said. He saw Mitch's broken state, reaching back to rub his knee soothingly. He ignored the seatbelt and turned back in his seat to start the drive home.
-
"Mitch." Scott started when Mitch walked into the room, holding onto the strap of his bag tightly. He stood up, hopped over to the sleeping Avi and took his crutches back before moving over to Mitch.
"Scott, leave him be." Kevin said, pushing a hand to Scott's chest.
"No, I'm not dropping this. Omega, get over here." Scott said, going over to Mitch and grabbing his shoulder to turn him around. "I hope you have a good excuse as to why you cursed at me at the mall."
Mitch glared at Scott as he struggled to hood back his tears. "Why do you think, Scott? You blamed me for something that was hardly my fault. Yes I know I wasn't watching the kids but I didn't mean for them to get taken. It's hard enough knowing they're probably dead." Mitch voice cracked and he felt tears streaming down his face.
"I was worried about you." Mitch's voice went up a few octaves and he sniffles, wiping his eyes and with the palm of his hands. "Then you say you don't need me."
Scott watched as Mitch broke down silently, every tear that he wiped up, three more fell down his face.
Mitch took a second to control himself before looking back up at Scott. "So, like I said earlier. Fuck you."
Scott felt a spark in his chest but he didn't dare move.
"I'm going to bed so once I get a call from the police about the pups, I'll be able to go get them. Don't bother following unless you're going to apologize." Mitch took off his bag and headed into the guest room, slamming the door shut behind him.

Mitch cursed. Thoughts?
