Scott jolted awake when he heard his phone ringing and took in his current surroundings. He looked down to see Mitch laying halfway on top of him, the blanket barely covering their lower halves. He pulled up the blanket and quickly answered the phone call as he got off the bed and carefully as he could.

"Hello?... Beau? What's going on." Scott pulled on a pair of underpants as Beau talked.

"No, he hasn't gotten in touch at all. Today? Beau, that's... Alright, fine. See you tonight." Scott hung up the phone with a defeated groan and ran his hands over his head.

Mitch stirred on the bed and blinked his eyes open, looking up to see the dark outline of Scott's body by the bed. "Alpha?" He called quietly.

"Hey, baby. Sorry to wake you..." Scott sat on the bed and Mitch cuddled up to him.

"What's going on?"

"Um... I'm being drafted out. I have to leave today." Scott said awkwardly, reaching behind him to switch on the lamp.

"Today? Isn't that a bit soon?" Mitch sat up to properly face Scott and his eyes filled with tears.

"I know it is, love, but there's nothing we can do about it," Scott said, cupping Mitch's jawline and wiping away the tears that rolled down his cheeks. "Baby, please don't cry..."

Mitch looked up to see Scott's eyes filling with tears and he sniffles, wiping his eyes with the palm of his hands but he couldn't stop the stream of tears that fell and landed on his lap. "I-I'm sorry, sir-"

Scott pulled Mitch's chin up and kissed him gently. He kept a firm grip on the side of Mitch's jaw as he kept the kiss as passionate as possible. He pulled away when Mitch hiccuped and he kept their foreheads together.

"I don't have to leave till tonight, so, how about we spend the day together, you and me. We'll drop the kids off at Avi's, pick them up when we're done and relax at the house till it's time. Sound good?"

Mitch nodded and sniffled, still trying to collect himself. "W-What time is it right now?"

"I'm not sure, love. Maybe 6?"

"Mind if I take a shower, calm down before we get the kids their breakfast?"

"Of course. Come here, love." Scott opened his arms and Mitch crawled onto his lap, snuggling into his chest.

-

"Made a really special breakfast," Scott said when Mitch came downstairs. "Your favorite. Beans, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs with ketchup." He tossed a pan into the sink and grabbed his and Mitch's plates to carry them to the dinner table.

Mitch walked to the table, making sure the kids were properly strapped in their high chairs before sitting next to Scott. He didn't say a word until Scott spoke up.

"Mitch, I don't want you to be so upset today. I know I'm leaving for a while but I don't want that to be on your mind all day." Scott said, watching as Bailey played with her beans. He scolded her quickly before feeding her with a plastic spoon.

"I know, it's just so sudden and I wish we would've gotten a heads-up." Mitch sighed and eyeballed Quinn who was refusing to even eat. "She wants a bottle," Mitch said, looking up at Scott.

"No, we're getting her off of that formula milk. She needs to eat her beans." Scott said, reaching over with a spoon. Quinn growled and slammed her hand down on top of Scott's, the spoon clattering to the floor.

"I know Avi said raising an Alpha would be tough but I didn't think she'd be so mean. I mean, these are special beans." Scott mumbled. Mitch giggled and cut his eggs to stuff them into his mouth.

-

"Thanks again, Avi. We'll be back around seven, sound good?"

"Of course." Quinn reached for Avi, Scott pouting and handing her over.

"She hates being with me, why does she like you so much?"

"Because I'm cool." Scott rolled his eyes and Mitch grabbed his hand. "Anyways, see you guys later, have fun today." Avi held his hand out, Scott shaking it firmly. He stepped into the house to hug Kevin and Matt before stepping back out.

"Ready to go?" Scott asked, holding his elbow out. Mitch hooked his hand around Scott's arm and nodded eagerly.

-

"How's your food?" Scott asked, looking over at Mitch who was staring at his plate of steak.

"It's wonderful." Mitch smiled and looked up at Scott with love in his eyes. "I'm glad we're finally able to have a nice night out."

Scott's heart fluttered and he reached across the table, his hand turned upward. Mitch wiped his hands before grasping his Alpha's.

"I love you, Alpha."

"I love you too, Omega." Scott smiled, rubbed Mitch's knuckled with his thumb before pulling back to continue eating.

Once the two were done with their steak dinner, Scott took Mitch to a few stores, buying him several gifts.

"How's this one?" Scott held up a bear that held a chocolate rose. Mitch looked over where he was looking at sweaters and giggled.

"You're such a dork." Mitch grinned and walked over, grasping the bear for himself. "It's not Valentine's Day."

"It doesn't have to be Valentine's Day for me to spoil you." Scott kissed Mitch deeply before going to the cashier. "What'd you pick out?"

"Just a blue sweater. It's very soft."

"That's it?"

"It's alright, sir. I'll most likely be wearing your clothes." Scott nodded and paid for the items quickly, carrying the bag for Mitch as they left the store.

"So, is there anything else you'd like to do before we go home?" Scott asked, leading Mitch to their rental.

"I just want to go early so we can spend a bit of extra time together. Is that okay?" Scott nodded and helped Mitch into the car. He hurried to the driver's side and turned the car on so it cooled off.

Scott leaned his head over, his hand reaching over to grab Mitch's that was in his lap. Mitch sat up to slant over the middle console and kiss Scott. When he pulled from the kiss, he let a soft sob out and sat back in his seat, covering his mouth quickly.

"Mitch- love, please don't cry," Scott said, grabbing Mitch's arm and pulling his hands away from his face. "Omega, look at me."

Mitch turned his head away, hating for Scott to see him so broken. He whimpered as he rubbed his lightly puffy eyes.

"Mitch, look at me, please," Scott whispered, gently hooking his finger under Mitch's chin to pull his head towards him. "Love, there's no need to cry, don't cry, please." Scott wiped away Mitch's tears and struggled to hold his own tears back.

 "Just, take us home, please."
