"How is he?"
"A little upset. Other than that, he's fine."
"How was his class?"
"Fine. He brought another painting. Here I'll send you a picture right quick."
Scott felt his phone vibrate and he dropped the duffel bag he was holding to grab the phone and unlock it. He stared at the abstract painting before bringing the phone back to his ear.
"Can you tell him I love it and that I'll hang it up for him when I get back?"
"Of course. When are you getting back?"
"Hopefully tomorrow. I'm still working on setting up the bases around the borders."
"Want me to bring Mitch back to the apartment tonight for you?"
"No, it's fine. I can pick him up from the house once I pay for that rental car and then rent another one." Scott sighed and zipped up the duffel bag to toss it across the room.
"Why don't you just get an actual car? Start of small, get a used one."
"I don't need a car, Avi. I'm leaving soon so it won't even be used." Scott heard the door to the dormitory rooms and looked up as Beau walked in. "I got to go, call you back later."
Scott hung up the phone and tucked it into his pocket. He stood up from the bed and faced Beau. "What's up?"
"The Sergeant Major from one of the other bases said we're all free to go home. They're putting the entire state of California on lockdown for a few days. We're allowed to do stuff like going out to eat and whatnot but not allowed to leave the state. Airplanes can come in with passengers but can't leave with."
Scott eyes lightened up. "Wow. A-alright."
Beau chuckled and patted Scott's shoulder. "You need a ride home?"
"That be great. Thanks. Well, do you think we can make a quick pit stop on the way?"
-
Mitch threw his hand over his stomach and whined lowly.
"You alright?" Avi asked, picking up the pencil Mitch dropped.
"No sir..." Mitch took the pencil back and put it in his work book to close it and place it to the side. "My stomach hurts and I feel like-" Mitch gagged and slapped a hand over his mouth before jumping off the couch and running to the guest bathroom.
He collapsed on his knees and let out his lunch into the toilet. Avi was behind him quickly, brushing his hair back to keep it out of the way.
Once Mitch was done, he took in a deep breath then vomited again at the smell. He then knew he was done and sat back against the wall, taking in slow breaths.
"Let me get you some water. There's some spare toothbrushes under the sink." Avi said, helping Mitch onto his sink and leaned him against it.
"T-Thank you, Alpha." Mitch stuttered. He waited until Avi left the turn on the sink and cup the water in his hands. He rinsed out his mouth and bent down to grab a spare brush. He brushed his teeth at least three times before Avi came back with a cup of iced water.
"Come on, let's get you back to the couch." Avi handed Mitch the cup and grabbed his free arm to lead him back to the couch. Mitch sat down and flinched when the front door was knocked on.
Avi made sure Mitch was situated before going over to the door. He looked through the peephole before opening the door wide, revealing Scott who was standing on the porch.
He had a small vase full of different types of flowers with a pretty bow wrapped around it.
"Alpha?" Mitch called from the couch. Scott walked in and noticed how pale Mitch looked. He rushed over and set the flowers on the coffee table before sitting next to his Omega.
"Oh honey, are you alright?"
"He just threw up. I'm not sure if he's sick or not." Avi said for Mitch. Scott's eyebrows furrowed in worry and he placed his hand on Mitch's forehead and his felt his cheeks.
"You don't seem to be running a fever but you are a bit warm." Scott mumbled.
"My tummy's been hurting for a few days though..." Mitch whined. He glanced over at the flowers and made grabby hands.
Scott smiled and grabbed the vase to hand to Mitch. "I wanted to give you something to help cheer up about what happened."
"Thank you, Alpha." Mitch placed the flowers in his lap before groaning.
"Want to go to the doctor's? I don't want you to be sick for too long."
"Please?"
Scott stood up and turned to Avi. "Mind if I take your truck?"
