I Love You

Scott cradled Mitch's head to his chest, swallowing the lump in his throat when another bomb was dropped making the Omegas jump in fear. He shut his eyes and prayed everything would stop. He wanted nothing more than to get Mitch away from the situation, that being his biggest fear. Mitch being in any way involved with the war made his skin crawl.

He felt Mitch's hand grip the back of his shoulder blades tightly when another bomb was dropped.

"It's going to be okay... You're safe..." Scott whispered into Mitch's ear. "You're safe..."

Mitch fell into Scott's lap when the blond slid down the wall and sat on the floor. He cradled himself in Scott's arms. "I'm sorry for acting up tonight, Alpha... I was just jealous because of Vincint."

Scott felt the ground rumble and he looked over at Mitch with furrowed brows.

"It's just... He's so slim and he wasn't poking out of his dress and he had a clean face and just.. Everything I don't have.. I have a zit right here.. My skin pokes out of my dress and my hair is too long and I'm so short and you're so tall and it makes things hard..."

Scott glanced over at Vincint and Beau who were on the other side of the room. He looked back down at Mitch and pressed a kiss to his Mark, Mitch's eyes turning blue quickly.

"Mitch, you know I don't care about any of that. I don't care if you're a little curvy or chunky in some areas, I don't care that we're a foot apart in height. I chose to Mark you for a reason. You're my Omega. My Omega that I love with all my heart. No one is perfect and I don't expect you to be, love. Everyone has some flaws and that's okay if you have some. I'm still going to love you the same as I did when I first met you. Remember that?"

Mitch nodded and leaned his head on Scott's shoulder, whimpering when the ground shook.

"You were lost, alone on the streets. You tugged on my jacket and cowered away like I was going to hit you. When I saw you, you were beautiful, Mitch. You still are. Nothing's changed about the way I see you, Omega. I love you for you. Not the way you look. I do enjoy seeing you in pretty frilly dresses and heels but I still gawk at you the same way if you were wearing sandals and sweat pants." Scott said, tucking Mitch's long hair behind his ear.

Mitch blushed and couldn't help but smile and stare up at his Alpha. He felt butterflies in his stomach when Scott kissed him. Scott placed his hand on top of Mitch's and linked their fingers together tightly.

Scott pulled back and let his lips linger a few centimeters away from Mitch's. "I love you." He whispered, kissing Mitch again before fully pulling back.

Mitch looked down when Scott fiddled with the promise ring on his right hand. He looked back up at his Alpha with love and admiration filling his eyes. "I love you, Alpha." The ground shook violently and Mitch shut his eyes.

Scott held onto the back of Mitch's thighs to make sure he didn't fall out of his lap and the other hand was wrapped around his thin waist.

"We're going to make it out alive, right Alpha?"

"Of course we are, love. I'd be damned if we didn't."

Scott pushed opened the hatch and gasped when a pile of dust and bits of rubble fell down the opening. He turned his head and spit out any dirt that got into his mouth and climbed out of the room. He looked around, the whole building was collapsed and everyone who was on the top floor was trapped or killed under the rubble. He looked up to see some of the roof pillars had formed a tent over the bunker to prevent more rubble blocking the entrance.

He climbed out of the bunker and found an exit out of the rubble. He made sure the coast was clear and hurried back over to the bunker. He dropped down and made his way past the crowd.

"Everyone needs a mask. Omega's first." Scott handed out the surgical like masks and tucked a couple into his pocket for when he found Mitch. Once everyone had their masks, Scott made his way to the corner of the bunker, shaking Mitch awake.

Once Mitch woke up, Scott slipped the mask over his mouth and helped the Omega off the floor.

"Come on, Love. We're leaving." Mitch snapped back into reality and stood up straight, grasping Scott's hand in his.

"All Alphas will be leaving first, one Alpha will stay behind." Scott started. A few murmurs were heard and he continued speaking.

"That Alpha is going to make sure the Omegas get out of the bunker safely then he is allowed to leave. If any Omega is left behind under this Alpha's watch, he will be benched from the war and used as bait for the enemy. You hear?" Scott said with a strong voice.

"Why aren't we letting the Omegas first, sir?"

"If anything happens, the Omegas will have first run back into the bunker. It's the rules and what we taught during the drill, if you even paid attention. Omegas lifes are always put before your own in any circumstance."

"But-" One soldier said.

"Omegas lifes come first." Scott repeated. "Beau. You're staying behind. I don't trust anyone else with this job." Scott flared around the crowd. He then turned to Mitch and whispered in his ear, Mitch running over to Beau and standing by his side.

"Let's go, now!" Scott headed back to the ladder and started climbing up. He got out and lead the Alphas out of the rubble. He stood outside the entrance, helping everyone into the open area. Once the Omega's were out, he looked into the crowd, panic rushing over his face momentarily.

Mitch crawled out from under the rubble and stood up, his hands clasped around an object.

"Sorry. Mitch saw you had dropped your badge." Beau said, crawling from behind Mitch.

Scott nodded and held out his hand, Mitch dropping the badge into his Alpha's palm.

"Thank you, love. Is this on correctly?" Scott asked, fixing Mitch's mask. Mitch nodded and all the Alphas put their masks on once they knew every Omega had one of their own.

Beau stepped forward to Scott after getting off the ground and dusting off his pants.

"So... What now?"
