Bombs

Mitch stared off across the room when the Sergeant Major of the Army made a toast, calling out names of soldiers who were being promoted or receiving medals for their bravery. Scott was called up first, going from Corporal to Sergeant. Mitch clapped awkwardly when everyone else started. Scott stayed at the stage, glancing over at Mitch every now and then too see him looking down with his eyes drooped and shifting awkwardly in his chair.

He jumped when everyone in the room started clapping again and was quick to start, placing his hands behind his back when they stopped. Once everyone was promoted and awarded, he made his way back to his seat and sat down, grasping Mitch's hand under the tablecloth to grab his attention.

"Mitch, what's going on? I figured you'd be more excited about this." Scott scolded. He knew everyone on the stage with him and everyone sitting near the two noticed Mitch's look.

Mitch didn't respond, only looked down with teary eyes. He folded his hands in his lap and glanced up, seeing Scott had looked away with his jaw locked in place. His lips shook and he noticed a Command Sergeant Major coming over. The Alpha crouched down behind Mitch's chair and tapped his shoulder.

"Omega, are you alright?" He said in a hushed voice. Mitch shook his head and his hands clamped against his dress. "Do you need to step out?"

"Please." Mitch whimpered low enough for Scott not to hear. The Alpha helped Mitch out of his chair and the two carefully moved away from the tables. Scott hadn't noticed Mitch had left until the sound of the two front doors closing caught a majority of everyone's attention.

Though everyone had dismissed the sound and turned back to their Sergeant Major, Scott had seen a glimpse of Mitch's glittery blue dress. His eyebrows furrowed and he stood up slowly, going to the front doors and carefully leaving. He looked both ways of the entrance and walked around one corner, seeing nothing so he skipped over to the other, seeing one of the other Command Sergeant Majors standing in front of Mitch who had his back to Scott.

"Hoying. Take care of your Omega." The Major has said when he noticed Scott's presence. Scott nodded and waited until the Major left to step forward and push Mitch a bit farther down the side of the building.

"What is going on with you tonight, Omega? You've never acted up like this." Scott said, crossing his arms.

Mitch, rarely ever being scolded, just let his arms wrap around himself as he tried to hold back his whimpers. His head hung low so his hair was covering one side of his face as tears dripped from his chin.

"Answer me, Omega," Scott ordered. "Look at me." When Mitch didn't follow his order, a switch went off inside of him and he pushed Mitch's shoulder so he was turned and pressed against the wall. One hand kept Mitch bound to the bricks and the other gripped Mitch's chin roughly and pulled his head up so their eyes met.

"I said, answer me, Omega!" Scott barked, his eyes bright red. Mitch let out a soft cry when his eyes went blue and he cowered under his Alpha's stare.

Mitch didn't respond again, not knowing what to say in this situation. The last punishment he had gotten from his Alpha was so long ago, he didn't remember what to do or how to respond.

"Are you seriously not going to answer me, Mitch?!" Scott growled. "Are you looking for a punishment?!"

"N-No, please, Alpha! I'm sorry!" Mitch begged, his breathing rapid and tears still dripping down his bright red cheeks.

"Answer my question, Mitchell." Mitch whimpered when Scott used his full name. "What is going on with you?" Mitch didn't respond again and he just shut his eyes, waiting for the hit. Scott huffed and pushed Mitch's head to the side, biting down into his Mark.

Mitch cried out and tried to push Scott away but Scott gripped his wrists tightly to keep him from doing so. "Alpha, please! I-I'm sorry!" He cried, desperately wanting Scott off of him. The Alpha growled and bit down harder when Mitch struggled against him. When the Omega went limp, he pulled back and wiped his mouth of any drool then looked around.

"Are you going to answer me or not? I'm not afraid of giving you a punishment right here." Scott warned. Mitch covered his neck and let out another cry. Scott ran his hand through his hair and stepped back to let out a groan.

He went to yell at Mitch but heard the familiar sound of something heavy falling down from the sky. He turned around and flinched when a jet flew over the base. He turned back around just in time to cover Mitch with his body as the bomb was dropped just several miles away. He felt heavy rubble hit his back multiple times and grabbed Mitch's hand tightly when it stopped, tugging him back into the hall where everyone had stood up.

"Incoming!" Someone yelled. Scott turned around to see another bomb falling another couple miles away. A majority of the room crowded into the corner of the room where there was a secret bunker for this situation.

"Omegas in first!" Another Alpha yelled. Scott shoved Mitch forward to the group. Mitch went to grab out for his Alpha but felt his body get pulled the opposite way. He got one last look at his Alpha who ran to the front doors to help barricade it before he was pushed down into the bunker. Lower ranked soldiers started climbing into the bunker, all of them jumping when another bomb was dropped closer to the hall.

"Everyone get into the bunker! Start going lower for more room! Wait for the bombs to stop!" Soon, everyone was tucked into the bunker, a majority going into the lower room. Mainly Omegas and their Alphas were on the lower floor.

Mitch ran around the hugging pairs, looking for his Alpha with wide eyes. He saw Scott climbing down the ladder to the lower floor and tackled him into a tight hug once he had shut the trap door. Scott took in a shuddered breath and held Mitch close to him.

"Oh fuck, Omega. I'm so sorry for yelling at you like that. Are you alright?" Scott said, placing his fingers to Mitch's Mark. Mitch winced and shook his head.

"I'm fine, Alpha. What about you, you protected me from all that rubble. Is your back badly bruised?" Mitch asked worriedly.

"Nothing I've never had. I'll be alright." Scott cupped Mitch's jaw and brought him close for a kiss. Scott let one hand fall to Mitch's waist, holding him protectively. All the Omegas shrieked as another bomb was dropped and the ground shook violently.

Mitch fell into Scott's chest and shuddered. He felt Scott's arms wrap around him and he turned his head, breathing in what was left of Scott's cologne. He knew he was safe in his Alphas arms, he knew his Alpha would protect him no matter what. He was where he was supposed to be and he wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

"I love you, Mitch. I love you so so much." Scott breathed out and he patted out the dirt and dust from Mitch's dress. Mitch looked up and could see absolute panic on Scott's face. Though Scott wasn't scared about the bombing, he's had worse than this, he was scared of losing his Omega.

Mitch turned into his Alpha's arms to be as close as possible to him.

"I love you too, Scott."
