"Do you think Mitch forgave Scott too easily?" Matt asked when he and Kevin walked into the house with the three seated stroller and bags of goodies.
"It's their relationship. Not ours." Kevin shrugged. He stared at the way Mitch and Scott slept on the couch, Cody in their laps, both their hands enclosing him in and keeping him still.
"I know that but, really. I know Scott isn't like the other Alphas but he shouldn't be forgiven like that so early and easily."
"What would happen if Mitch didn't forgive him? Mitch doesn't have anywhere to go besides here, we can't support him and the babies forever. Scott can't exactly live on his own. In their own ways, they both need each other. "
"But Scott cheated on him, if Avi were to do that to me, I don't know if I'd be able to forgive him," Matt said, crouching down in front of the stroller to unclip the seatbelts and pick up Bailey first, the blonde Beta whining before snuggling against his chest comfortably.
"Just, let them be, Matt. It's better they're together and happy than the opposite. Try not to bring it up too much." Kevin grabbed Quinn and gently kicked the door closed. He and Matt went to the guest room and set the sleeping babies down on the bed.
-
"Where does it hurt, Mitch?" The doctor asked, pressing his fingers along the healing holes in Mitch's arm. When Mitch didn't respond, he lifted Mitch's arm and the Omega gasped in pain and pulled his arm back quickly. "Stretching it aches you?"
"At times, yes," Mitch said, holding his arm back out.
"That's pretty normal. We have two options, stitching the holes closed in order to get them to close faster or, we can get you on antibiotics and give them a long time to heal. What do we feel like?" The doctor asked, stripping off his gloves and stepped back to look at Scott and Mitch.
"How long will the stitches take to heal?" Scott asked.
"Since werewolf healing is a big advantage here, I'd say roughly a few months. Just depends on how well his skin and flesh pieces itself back together."
Scott hummed to himself and looked over at Mitch who was shrugged at him. "We'll do the stitches. When will we be able to get them done?"
"I can get the appointment written and set once you two leave so sometime next week. I will give you a call as soon as the appointment is set. you two are ready to leave anytime you'd like." Scott nodded and the doctor left the room, Mitch hopping off the hospital bed. He let Scott wrap his arm with some gauze then pulled on his flannel.
"Ready?"
-
"Momma. Wake up, it's time for the special day." Scott cooed, straddling Mitch's legs and poking at his face. Mitch whined and gently hit Scott's hands away.
"Nooo." He whined.
"Come on, love. It's the babies first birthday!" Scott hopped off the bed, using the nightstand as his crutch when he grabbed Mitch's arm and rolled him over.
Mitch complained briefly then stood up and wrapped his arms around Scott's frame. "Where are they?"
"Eating chocolate pancakes in the dining room. And with that special whipped cream Matt makes really well."
Mitch's stomach growled at the thought and he grasped Scott's wrist, rubbing the joint with his thumb. "I'm really glad I had the pups with you, Alpha. We made a new pack. A new generation of wolves."
Scott smiled and leaned down to kiss Mitch's forehead. "Wouldn't have wanted them with anybody else. Come on, let's go see the birthday pups." Scott followed Mitch to the kitchen where they saw the babies in their high chairs, eating chocolate pancakes with their hands. Their mouths and chests were covered in whipped cream making Scott laugh.
Mitch walked over and kissed each of of the babies on their heads before going to kitchen where Matt was still cooking. Scott crutched to the table and sat between Bailey and Quinn.
"So, do you know when they'll be able to shift today?" Scott asked Kevin.
In the kitchen, Mitch ran his fingers over the new glass put in the window above the sink then smiled. He jumped when two arms slithered around his waist and picked him up in the sir.
"I'm so happy for you and the pups, Mitch!" Mitch giggled loudly when he heard Avi's voice behind him. "Their first birthday!"
Matt turned from the stove and waved his spatula towards Avi. "Hey, calm down. Don't want Mitch to hurt himself."
"Party pooper." Avi grumbled, setting Mitch on his feet and kissing his cheek. "How's your arm doing?"
"The stitches itch but it's healing quite nicely if I say so myself." Mitch grinned and extended his arm out a bit. "Will it be safe to shift while my arm is healing?"
"Of course. Think of it as if our bodies are in two different dimensions and were just traveling between them. Your wolf is one and your actual body is in another. So when shifting, you're pretty much just travel to and fro."
Mitch rose an eyebrow and Avi rolled his eyes.
"You'll be fine." Avi patted Mitch's shoulder then went over to Matt, hugging his waist and kissing the back of his neck. Mitch grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and went back to the dining room.
Scott leaned his head back against Mitch's tummy when the brunet stood behind him and grinned. "Hi, love."
"Hi." Mitch leaned down and kissed Scotts forehead before going around the table to sit next to Kevin and across from Scott.
-
"Happy birthday to you!" Quinn and Bailey giggled and laughed when everyone cheered and clapped, Cody bursting into tears at the loud noise. Mitch pouted and walked over, crouching by the highchair and attempting to tickle him.
"Awe, poor guy got scared. Can I hold him?" Austin asked, walking over. Mitch nodded, picking Cody from the highchair and handing him off to Austin. Austin turned to go back to Nicole but saw she had disappeared into the kitchen with Kevin. He saw the two talking quietly to themselves.
"Can we eat cake now?" Scott said loudly, breaking the silence. Mitch laughed and took the cake from the dining table before the babies ruined it and took it to the kitchen. Kevin and Nicole didn't break eye contact with each other until Mitch cleared his throat rather loudly.
"Sorry to interrupt, Alpha. Can we cut the cake now?" Scott came into the kitchen and stood behind Mitch.
"The babies want to open the presents, Quinn doesn't want to let go of one of them." Scott said.
"Oh alright." Scott went back to the living room, Mitch following behind.
