"Shh... It's okay..." Mitch woke up to Scott's murmuring and he heard soft cries making him sit up immediately. He then noticed how cold it was in the room and shivered.
"What's wrong?" Mitch whispered, reaching for his robe he kept folded on the nightstand and he pulled it on quickly.
"I think the heater broke." Scott turned around, handing Noah to Mitch. "It's like five degrees colder all over."
"Will you go check on the kids?" Mitch asked, taking Noah and sitting back on the bed and bringing him under the sheets.
Scott pulled on a shirt before going to the nursery, shivering once he stepped in the room. The babies had yet to be bothered by the coldness so he rushed downstairs, grabbing one of the plug-in heaters and carrying it upstairs. He plugged it in in the hallway and aimed it inside the room so it didn't get too hot. He made sure Midge was still comfy in his crate before going back to Mitch.
"Are they okay?" Mitch asked as he whispered to Noah to get him back to sleep.
"Just fine." Scott went to the closet and picked up a blanket from the top shelf. He went to the bed and tossed it over, Mitch doing his best to take his robe off as he still held onto Noah. Once he threw the robe behind him, Scott climbed into the bed, bringing one hand under Mitch and Noah to bring them closer. He bent his head down, kissing the side of Noah's head then kissed Mitch.
Mitch crawled closer, bringing the blankets higher and he felt snuggly at the warmth Scott gave off.
-
Scott waved as the elevator doors closed on the maintenance guy. He turned on the heater and sighed heavily when the room heated up immediately.
"Feels better already." Scott walked to the living room, half surprised to see Mitch sitting on the couch, feeding Noah with the other kids watching a ten-hour version of the Orange is the New Black theme song on the t.v.
"Are you hungry? I can make a pot of macaroni so we can feed the kids at the same time."
Mitch's stomach growled and he turned his head to jut his bottom lip out in a pout. Scott chuckled and left to the kitchen.
Mitch set down the bottle of milk once Noah was done and stood up, burping him quickly. He made sure the babies were still watching the t.v then went to the kitchen, hopping up on one of the barstools and watching Scott move around the kitchen.
Scott set a pot of water on the stove and turned on the burner then went to Mitch, hugging him from behind.
"I've been thinking, Alpha..." Mitch said, turning in the stool and looking up and Scott.
"About?"
"Well, I know you don't want to take care of Tiffany but don't you think she deserves someone better to raise her?"
"You know I don't like talking about this."
"Just listen... You know how Matt and Ali wanted me to be their surrogate?"
Scott stopped heading back into the kitchen and he turned back around.
"Maybe we could see if they would want Tiffany. She still young, they could still experience her first words and first steps... It's a win-win. Tiffany gets a happy family, you won't have to worry about the Omega doing any damage to his kid, and I don't have to take care of another newborn." Mitch smiled.
Scott sat on the bar stool beside Mitch and inspected him. He noticed the tired bags that laid under Mitch's eyes and how dull his eyes looked. He had a few pimples and knew Mitch was one to take better care of his skin. He reached a hand forward, caressing Mitch's chin.
"Are you sure you want that? I know how you felt about the baby not knowing her real parents." Scott rubbed Mitch's cheek.
"She'll understand when she's older. I noticed how Avi had grown attached to the idea of me carrying his pup and I knew how sad he was when he found out I can't get pregnant anymore."
"I'll talk to them soon about it," Scott said dropping his hand. Mitch nodded, getting off the stool when Noah fell asleep in his arms. "Hey, why don't you go upstairs, get some rest, you need it."
"But-"
"I'll be fine watching the kids. Get some rest, put a mask on if you want, take a bath."
Mitch beamed. "If the kids stay asleep tonight, think we could do some masks together? Have a nice night?"
"Of course. Now go up and take a nap, you can leave Noah in his crib."
Mitch went to the living room and placed Noah in his bassinet, rocking the crib gently before going upstairs and pulling the ends of his jacket closer together. He heard Scott call him and he leaned on the stairway, seeing Scott looking up at him.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Alpha." Mitch hopped away to his room and plugged in his Christmas lights before pulling back his fluffy duvet. He took off his jacket and laid it carefully on the bedside before laying down. He brought the duvet back over his body and fell asleep as soon as he got comfortable.
-
"Careful." Scott flinched away when Mitch got close to his eye with his finger covered in the black charcoal mask substance.
"I can see your eye, Alpha. Calm down." Mitch gripped Scott's chin and pulled his head closer to finish spreading the mask over his face.
"Don't get it in my beard." Scott sighed.
"You need to stop worrying. I know what I'm doing." Mitch sassed, kissing Scott's lips gently. "I'm going to wash my hands, be right back."
Scott watched Mitch go to the bathroom with loving eyes and he sat against the headboard. Mitch came back in a few seconds, crawling on the bed and tucking himself into Scott's side. Scott grabbed the remote and turned on the t.v, putting on one of Mitch's favorite trash tv shows.
It wasn't long until Scott spoke up. "I don't understand how you like this stuff, it's so rude and violent."
"That's what makes it interesting."
"Usually Omegas aren't allowed to watch this kind of stuff. You're lucky I'm so nice."
Mitch looked up and grinned, gasping when he saw the edges of Scott's mask messy and cracked. "I told you not to scratch it!"
"Sorry! It's just hard not to." Scott shrugged, grunting when Mitch slapped his stomach. He then grabbed his hips when the brunette straddled his hips. He then flinched when Mitch started to pull at his mask. "Hey, hey, hey! Ow!"
"Don't be a baby, Alpha. It does not hurt that much."
"You're going to eat your words once I pull at that mask myself." Scott flinched again when Mitch pulled at another section of the mask. "My face is going to be red for weeks"
"You're going to be beautiful, Alpha. If you're not going to do it for yourself, do it for me."
Scott turned to look at Mitch with his red eyes. "Don't you play that card, ow!" Scott pouted when Mitch finally pulled off the rest of the mask.
"Look at all that gunk, gross." Mitch stuck his tongue out and showed the dirty mask off. "You can have payback by taking my mask off."
"Finally." Scott peeling off the edges of the mask and ripping off a large piece in one pull. Mitch flinched and covered the exposed spot with his hand.
"Ow! Rude!"
"That's what you get." Scott continued to pull the rest of the mask off and looked at it. "Why isn't there much gunk on this as mine?"
"'Cause I know how to clean my face unlike you. Now come on, we gotta close your pores." Mitch stood up and grabbed Scott's hand and pulled him to the bathroom.
