I think 1.8K words is a new record for this book.

Scott collapsed against the punching bag once he delivered his final punch and flicked his sweaty hair out of his face. He took in several deep breaths before going over to the benches and sitting down. He took off the bands around his hands and leaned against the wall, still catching his breath.

"You need a ride home? Sometimes it isn't best to drive after an hour and a half of punching." Scott looked up to see the owner of the shady gym walking over and handing Scott a large bottle of water which the blond took gratefully.

"I'm not sure yet. My hands are numb but maybe the feeling will come back?"

The owner nodded, sitting next to Scott. "So, what brought you here so late?"

"My Omega, he's been acting up and I just finally snapped at him and even though I threatened to punish him, he still yelled at me." Scott huffed, uncapping his water and taking a few large gulps before wiping his mouth and reaching for his sweat towel.

"Why didn't you punish him?"

"He's pregnant," Scott said. "I don't want to hurt him too badly. The last time I did, I wolfed out and nearly killed a bunch of people."

"Savage?"

Scott nodded, sighing heavily before standing up and wiping the sweat from his forehead. "Well, thanks for allowing me to come so late. I better get home, I can't leave my Omega and pups home alone for too long."

"Hold on, take this." The owner stood up, taking his set of keys out of his pocket and unclipping one. "It's for the doors to this place, you're welcome back anytime you need it. I understand how difficult it must be to keep a Savage down."

Scott took the key and tucked it into his gym shorts. "Thank you."

When Scott came home, he looked around the dark living room, his eyebrows arching up when he didn't see Mitch or the babies. He got to the stairs and saw a light illuminating the hallway and was quick to get upstairs. He looked down the hallway and saw Mitch's door cracked open halfway.

Before going to Mitch's room, he looked inside the nursery to see Midge laying in his crate as usual. Scott knocked on the door then pushed it open to see Mitch had fallen asleep with Cody on his bed. He stared at the two for a moment and he felt his skin go cold when Mitch started to wake up.

Scott turned and went to his room, hearing a pitiful, "Alpha?" as he walked. He shook his head as he shut the door then went to his bathroom. He started a cold shower and stepped in after stripping down. Usually, Scott didn't shower with his prosthetic on but he didn't have the patience to get his crutches.

He winced at the cold water but eventually got used to it as it cleared his head and relieved his muscles. He heard the bathroom door open and opened his eyes since he had his head down and eyes closed to think to himself.

"Alpha? C-Can we talk?" Mitch's soft voice poured into the bathroom and it made Scott's heart clench. Scott didn't reply or flinch when Mitch slowly pushed open the shower door. He was already naked and Scott leaned forward to heat up the water since Mitch wasn't one to enjoy cold showers.

Mitch waited for the water to heat up then stepped in, walking up to Scott and leaning on his chest, his hands curled to his own. "I'm sorry about what's happened all these weeks. I'm sorry I snapped and I'm sorry if I made you feel like a bad Alpha."

Scott set his hands on Mitch's waist, holding the Omega close. "Why are you acting up like this? You've had these phases multiple times but they've never lasted this long. What is going on, Omega?" He said in a voice that made Mitch's heart swell and his blood rush a bit south.
