(This isn't completely in chronological order, by the way. It's kind of a chaos of events with some sort of time order to some of them)

Kim Taehyung always knew that Jeon Jungkook was destined for something more than just an office job, from the moment they met. He was too much of a natural leader, too much of a genius, and he had too many ideas to hide. Everyone who met him saw it, but nobody understood it as clearly as Tae did.

Maybe that's because they never got close enough to know him as well as Taehyung did. And nobody could ever take that role away from him, not even Jungkook's own mother.

Money is the anthem, of success, so before we go out

Everyone else always seemed to see Jungkook's wealth as something that helped him out, as something attractive. But Taehyung was different, viewing his childhood best friend as more than just the money, and for a long time he didn't know that Jungkook appreciated that more than anything else.

But now things have changed, and Taehyung is standing there, right beside his best friend, watching as the presidential campaign that they began together starts to pick up followers and support from all sorts of people, as they realise how appropriate that sort of job would be for someone like Jungkook.

I'm your National Anthem, God, you're so handsome

"Hey, Jungkook, look over here for a second?"

The nervous twenty year old does as he's asked, smiling directly at a camera, hand hovering anxiously over the left pocket of his suit, waiting for Taehyung to text him and reassure him. His best friend promised a while ago that he would, so he's hanging on until then.

"Any romantic interests, Mr Jeon?"

"Who's the lucky girl in your life, huh?"

He loves to romance 'em, reckless abandon, hold me for ransom, upper echelon

He smiles a little, hoping that Tae has jumped into a car by this point so that he can save him from the attention of the press. "No girlfriend at this point," he replies truthfully, Taehyung's beaming smile coming into sharp focus in his mind, reminding him why he has the confidence to do something like this.

He says to "be cool" but, I don't know how yet, wind in my hair

"Relax, okay? Everyone's going to love you.," Taehyung says firmly, fixing Jungkook's bow tie gently and instinctively kissing his forehead. "Now get out there and show them who President Jeon Jungkook would be."

Jungkook's eyes widened at the gesture, and Taehyung turns to leave, blushing right red. "But yeah, good luck."

I said, can we party later on, he said, yes

"We can hang out and celebrate later, right?" Jungkook checks quickly, and Taehyung nods instantly, causing the younger to beam in relief. "I feel like a quiet night in would be nice after all we've done. No matter what the result is."

Tell me I'm your National Anthem (Ooh yeah baby bow down, makin' me so wild now)

"Fuck, Jungkook, stop, before they realise what we're doing," Taehyung lets out, lifting his head involuntarily as Jungkook's lips graze the sharp line of his tanned jaw, in the back of the taxi, and the younger smirks slightly, his hand coming to rest on the small narrowing of his waist.
