(A/n: if you can, listen to the song above whilst you read. Try and time it so that the events of the song match up to the story, but the song does go a lot slower. It may take patience but you'll see what I mean. Anyway, enjoy! (Any heathers fans out here?) (and tw people die and stuff and kook is a little bit insane)

"I-I-"
"Shh, it's okay, I don't believe a word they're saying. They're lying, just to make you upset. I know."
"I would never-"
"I know, Tae, I know."

Jungkook smiles a little, placing a hand on my arm and then bringing me into a hug, his hold familiar and comforting. "You're not that kind of person, which is what I love about you. You're loyal, something they-" his jaw clenches a little in anger-"will never be able to understand."

I bury my face in his shoulder, wrapping my own arms around his torso. "Why are they so cruel?" I ask, holding back tears, and he shakes his head a little.
"It's their nature, love, there's nothing we can do about it, unfortunately."

His eyes flash with an unfamiliar light, and a chill goes down my spine. The corner of his mouth lifts a little, and I frown in confusion. "Maybe there is something we can do," he says thoughtfully, that dangerous spark still there in his eyes.

My confusion only increases. "What can we do?"

His eyes soften, and the glint I thought I saw within them disappears without a trace. "You trust me, right?" he checks, his voice suddenly much more gentle than before. I nod instantly, knowing my answer without having to think about it. He's been my boyfriend for months. He wouldn't do anything to hurt me. I know this by now.

"Of course I do, with my life," I return.

His smile widens. "Thank you," he mumbles. "I need you to help me with this, if you're willing. Once we're done with this, they won't be able to hurt you anymore. Nobody will dare. They'll all step back and worship the ground you walk on, just as I do."

I blush a little at his romantic language. "Aw, Kook, I'm sure you don't-"
"I do," he interrupts firmly. "You are the best thing that's happened to me. You know about my shitty family and my messed up life. And you  never let it  bother you. I never felt anything other than pain before you. And now I can feel love and happiness."

My blush only deepens, and he chuckles a little, pulling back to kiss my forehead. "They may have made you suffer, but tonight we will make sure they pay for it."

He brushes our lips together. "We are the reason the world is the way it is," he tells me firmly. "The dinosaurs died, the dodo became extinct, so that there was room for us to appear. We are the asteroid that turned it  all to dust, because God wanted room for the two of us to blaze our trail across the whole world."

I smile a little, the metaphor seeming weird, but cute. "I worship you," he tells me again, firmly. "I would do literally anything for you. So don't worry, love. Everything will work out in the end."

A few hours later, on the instruction of my boyfriend, I send out a mass text to all of the people who heard the rumour that was spread about me. One that tells them to come to the cemetery at dawn, if they want to see whether it's true. As it will be proved then.

The rumour itself is simple. They claimed that I was into some crazy shit, that I was willing to do anything with anyone. That I would happily cheat on Jungkook if it meant I could experience a large variety of things. But none of it's true.

Jungkook smiles, pulling a small handgun out of one of his many coat pockets, and my eyes go wide. "Is that real?" I ask, terrified. He nods.
"It is, yes," he says quietly.
"Why are you bringing it to this? What are you-"
