"Thank you, Kook. It looks incredible."
"You're more than welcome. I'm glad I was able to get it done for you. Here's how to look after it over the next few weeks," I tell him, handing a pamphlet over, and the client nods, smiling slightly. "Any issues, you let us know, and we'll see if we can help. Have a great day."

I smile a little as the last client of the day leaves. "Day's over, homies!" I call out, eliciting both cheers and laughter from my colleagues. One of my fellow artists stands up, walking over to the door and turning the sign at the front so that it says 'closed' instead of 'open'. "Feel free to go home, once you've cleared up."

We work together to clear up the shop, and then everyone slowly goes home.

I do the same, locking everything up and then ascending the stairs to my shared apartment, a warm smile on my face. Our shop doesn't stay open until late like other tattoo shops in the area, mainly because I want to make sure I get home at a sensible time. My boyfriend gets worried if I'm very late.

It never seems to bother our clients. We have a lot of regulars, a number of newbies, and a few people who just want piercing after piercing. Honestly, as long as we have business, I don't mind it that much. As long as I make enough money to keep my boyfriend and I alive and happy.

"I'm home, baby!" I call out as I open the door, locking it behind me as I always do. I don't trust the outside world, never have and probably never will, so keeping my house secure makes sense. Especially considering the fact that the contents mean a lot to me. And the person I live with means even more.

I hear the patter of his feet on the floor, an eager sound which brings a wide smile to my own face. "Kook! How was work?" he asks enthusiastically, a glow in his eyes and his favourite stuffed toy clutched in his left hand, forgotten as he throws his arms around me. I laugh at the energy emanating from my boyfriend, returning the affectionate gesture without complaint.

"It was good, thank you, sweetheart. How has your day been?" I ask fondly, kissing his forehead and letting him tug me through the apartment to the kitchen. My heart swells at the sight of a singular cupcake waiting for me on the kitchen table. It's covered with chocolate frosting, something that is barely visible through the vigorous sprinkling of rainbow hundreds and thousands over the top.

"This is beautiful, Taehyungie," I tell him, kissing the top of his head. "Did you make this?" He nods, a proud smile on his face.
"For you, Kookie. Coz you work so hard, and you deserve good food," he says, his arm curling around my waist and squeezing slightly.
"Thank you, baby. May I eat it now?"

The smile on his face widens into a beautiful beam of pure happiness, and he nods again, several times. "Please, I want you to try it. Jinnie hyung helped me. So it must be perfect."

My eyes widen slightly as my teeth sink into the cupcake, the sweet taste of vanilla immediately becoming prevalent. The texture is surprisingly good, the frosting well made, the cake is a perfect size. It is genuinely delicious.

"This is heavenly, Tae. I'm impressed," I tell him, and his smile widens even more. "Thank you for making this."

He beams, the stuffed rabbit in his left hand dropping to the floor when I feed him part of the cupcake, the action happening out of sheer surprise. He lets out a squeal, and I chuckle to myself at the indignant expression on his face. "See, it is good," I tell him, smiling when his eyes light up at the taste.

When the cake is eaten, and the stuffed rabbit rescued from the floor, he takes my hand again, pulling me gently into the living room and seating us both on the sofa. Once there, he snuggles his way into my arms, setting the rabbit beside him and wrapping his arms around my torso, the left side of his head resting directly over my heart.
