"Taehyung, he needs a partner. You've gotta befriend him. Last resort scenario, and don't fuck it up," I mumble to myself, taking a deep breath and looking around the mortal world. Well, mortal is a bit of a loose term at the moment, with no specific definition.

Mainly due to the laws introduced in the second half of this year, which specify the rights of fantastical creatures within the human world. They stood up for themselves, basically, and now they are viewed as people..if they're a little different. It makes my work a lot easier, I guess, because now I can demand that people are treated properly and that will allow me to gain the trust of those I need to help.

And if I can't help them, my purpose isn't needed, and so I will leave the realm of living beings. So it's vital that I can bring something to this suffering one's life.

He is a fantastical creature himself, and he's been alone all his life. No caring parents, no real friends, just people who work with him or exploit his talents. It's something mainly caused by the fact that he was raised by humans who didn't care about him as a person in the slightest. So he lacks confidence. And trust in humanity.

Trying to pose as a human being to someone who doesn't trust human beings won't help much. I've got to figure out another solution. Become someone else. Something else. I'm just not sure what to choose.

I need to know more before I go undercover. Otherwise the whole point of my role will be ruined, and then he won't find love. And special cases like his are vital to my very existence. The pressure is seriously on. And I am a little terrified, I'm willing to admit that. But if I managed to find someone for a nearly suicidal werewolf last year, two people who were wiling to stay with him in a poly relationship for life, I can certainly find someone for Jeon Jungkook.

That is something that must be a certainty. I cannot fail.

"Who are you?"
"Taehyung. I'm not here to hurt you, I'm just curious. I've seen you around, you seem pretty sad and I just don't understand why. You're not a particularly horrible person, so why are you always so down?"

The young hybrid shrugs, his thin black wings shifting and rustling with the movement. "What reason have I got to be happy, Taehyung? When I'm the only one left out of all my kind, and no other dragon seems to exist? When even those I have come across have been double my age and uninterested in me? What is it about me that's so impossible to love?"

He places a hand on his forehead. "Why did I even tell you that? What the fuck? Are you some sort of truth fairy or some shit?" He scowls at me. "Not cool, dude. Not cool." I panic for a second. He's supposed to trust me, not hate me.

"No. Maybe you just felt like you could talk to me or something, without being judged?"
"I guess so....wait why would that make any sense?"
"I'm not sure," I admit, knowing that people normally trust me, but not this much. There's something about this situation which is different somehow. I need to find out what that thing is. Otherwise it could mess up everything I'm trying to do for him.

His wings fold behind his back, and he smiles a little, revealing teeth that are slightly sharper than they probably should be. "Well, you don't seem like a bad guy, Taehyung. So maybe we can be friends. It's better than being alone forever, I guess."

His eyes flash bright green for a moment, and his pupils shift into slits in that singular second. I can feel his gaze on me, stronger than before, and then his smile widens slightly as he realises something I thought he wouldn't. "Taehyung, I know you're not a creature or a human, I can just tell. I'm not as stupid as I seem."

My eyes widen. "I didn't think you were stupid-"
"I know. But just tell me plain. What are you?"

I sigh, lowering my head. "I'm basically Cupid? I'm here to find you someone because I don't want you to be lonely anymore, and I was thinking you wouldn't want to befriend me if you thought I was human, so being a creature was my best bet. I don't get how you could work something like that out, it makes no sense-"
