Andy
Jack had been in Ireland for about two weeks now.
I hadn't been able to hug my boyfriend for over 14 days. A pillow just wasn't the same. Neither was Skype, or just texting in general. He wasn't here in person.
I'd told him this, and he'd said that he felt exactly the same. We cried a bit that night over a Skype call, but we soon forgot about that predicament when we moved onto a less sensitive topic. It was currently 1:00AM, and my boyfriend was due to walk through the door in three hours. I couldn't sleep, but I guess that a better word was wouldn't.
I wanted to be awake when he walked through the door, so that I could launch myself at him and not let him go.The boys had all gone to bed, apart from Mikey, who was watching a video on his laptop, but I could see that he was slowly drifting off.
My hands wouldn't stop twitching, so I ended up pacing around the kitchen for twenty minutes, just to relieve myself of some energy. I couldn't stop moving... And I was nervous... Why was I so nervous about my boyfriend coming home?
I lost track of time after that, pacing back and forth, quietly tidying up as to not wake up Mikey, who had finally fallen asleep. I slipped his laptop from his lap, and closed it on the floor, slowly removing his headphones and placing them on top. He stirred, but turned over and fell back sleep, burrying himself into his covers.
I sighed softly. Then I heard a key quietly insert itself into out front door. I rushed out if the room and into the hallway, waiting for the door to open. The second I saw him I jumped into his arms, and he dropped all his bags to catch me. I tangled my hands around the back of his neck as I inhaled his scent, breathing heavily and sighing. His hands worked there way around my back as I hooked my legs around his waist, and he stumbled back a few steps.
"I missed you... so much." I said, as I allowed myself to be out down.
"I know... but I'm here now Andy... I love you." He whispered back. I pressed my lips tightly against his own... after all we had two weeks of catching up to do.
Breathless, we parted, and I rested by forehead against his with a smile, my hands still holding his face.
"I love you too." I murmered, before we fully disconnected ourselves from eachother. Giddy, I helped him pick up all his bags as he locked the door behind him, dumping them on the couch quietly.
He joined me in my bed, our limbs intertwining as we held eachother as close as possible. Surprisingly there were no tears. I fully expected myself to burst into tears when I saw my boyfriend, but all there had been was relief.
Relief that he was finally home again. I breathed him in again, relishing in the fact that he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.He clutched my hand tightly in his own, playing with my fingers. I drifted off after that, small smile on my face when I felt his lips brush my cheek.
My boyfriend was home.
