Jack

Accepting food from Brooklyn was probably where I went wrong.

Instead of asking what he'd used to make the cookies, I just accepted them without question. They were good cookies, so I wasn't going to complain about them anyway.

Brook flushed with pride when everyone gave him good feedback, and I chuckled at my friend.

Always so innocent... but then again not.

"These are really good Brook!" I called as I stared out the kitchen window.

"Thanks bro!"

I smiled again. It widened when I say Andy playing football with Mikey outside.

I could hear their giddy laughter from where I was stood. I shook my head with a smirk, finished off the cookie.

"I'll go and see if Andy or Mike want any before they devour them," I said, looked pointedly to Rye, Robbie and Alex, who eyed the plate with hunger in their eyes.

It was a bit nippy outside, but not cold enough to require a jacket. I slid my hands into my pockets and walked slowly towards them, the sound of their laughter getting louder and louder.

I saw Andy wave to me, before he took the ball from Mikey. Kicked it... and Mikey fell to the floor in pain.

I laughed, could see Andy laughing hysterically. Mikey rolled around, and I heard him shout. Followed by laughter.

"Hey Mike! Brook made cookies!" I yelled when I got close enough, and Mikey's head snapped up right away, looked in the direction of the house.

And then Mikey climbed to his feet and sprinted back towards the house, all ounces of pain from before gone.

"You're welcome!" I shouted after him.

I turned to Andy, saw his fond expression.

"What?" I smiled, felt my cheeks redden.

Without warning Andy picked me up and spun me round again and again.

"Andy.... Andy stop it"! I giggled.

He pressed his lips to mine to make me shut up, and he slowly lowered me to the floor, rested his hands on my waist.

"What was that for?" I asked breathlessly.

I couldn't stop the smile from widening on my face at the smile on his face.

"Because you're cute, that's why," Andy whispered, and his breath tickled my neck.

I giggled again. "Stop."

"No... I like seeing you happy," he said.

"Just seeing you makes me happy Andy," I mumbled, hid my face in his shoulder.

"You're cute," Andy whispered into my ear.

"Oh my god stop, okay, let's go and get you some cookies, although I can't guarantee they'll be any left by now," I pulled away, held Andy's hand in my own.

Andy's laugh sent flutters in my chest; it never stopped either. Just the mere thought of Andy sent shivers down my spine, a pounding in my heart.

And true to routine, my heart carried on pounding for the next half hour. Just the knowledge that Andy was sat beside me, hand on my knee, made it impossible for me to think of anything else.
