-----------------------------------------------------------Rye
We could hear the blaring music before we had even got out of the car.
I sighed.
It was obviously Jack, seeing as he had opted to stay in tonight when we had gone to the cinema earlier.
The music only grew louder when we walked into the house, but I chuckled when I heard Jack singing. I followed the sound of the music, and his singing, which led me to the kitchen.
"Oh for goodness sake." I muttered under my breath.
Jack swayed dangerously, a bottle in his hands. He sang out of key, his voice slurred, and I burst into laughter.
"What's so funny? Where's.... oh my God."
Andy appeared in the doorway and shook his head. There was a smile on his lips when I looked though.
"Well, we're going upstairs Ryan... sort your boyfriend out." Mikey yelled as he ran up the stairs.
"Good luck!" Brooklyn called.
Andy ran up the stairs after them.
I flushed. "He's not my boyfriend!" I shouted back.
I took a deep breath. Jack was always a right piece of work when he was drunk. He never listened to what I said, or anyone else for that matter.
I switched the music off first, my ears ringing... I'd only been in the vicinity for less than a few minutes, so God knows how Jack was faring.
But he didn't even react when the music shut off. Silence rang around the house, and I took it in.
I kept watching Jack, smiling when he carried on swaying to his own beat. With his eyes closed he took big swigs from the bottle in his hands.
Right, that was enough.
"Jack." I said in my normal voice.
Nothing.
"Jack!"
He turned around at the sound of my voice, and I bit my lip to hold back from laughing right in his face.
Jack looked so confused, and it was kind of adorable. His eyes squinted, and I started to walk over to him.
I held my hand out wordlessly for the drink, but he looked at it like it was from another planet. With another sigh I ripped the bottle from his grip.
"That's enough of that." I said.
"No... no give... no." Jack slurred terribly.
He tried to get it back, but he was far too drunk to actually achieve anything. This was far too easy, I thought with a smile.
"You've had enough of that Jackie." I said, placing the bottle on the counter behind me, and out of Jack's line of sight.
"I wanna drink Rye..." He whined, and slumped onto me.
Now for the fun part.
With Jack still on me I managed to make him a glass of water, and I held it in front of his lips.
"Drink this."
He mumbled something I couldn't quite decipher.
"Please?" I asked.
"'is it?" He slurred.
I chuckled. "It's water."
"Won't burn." Was all he said.
