Rye

The second I opened my eyes I remembered what had happened.
I buried my head back in Brooklyn's side with a quiet groan, wishing so much that he hadn't come looking for me.

Yet at the same time I appreciated him so much, because he cared enough to come to find me. And to stay and help. And to make sure I was alright.

I can't believe how I had behaved last night... I shouldn't have gotten so worked up in the first place really. But I couldn't help it. There was just so many things we needed to get done, to discuss, but there just didn't seem to be enough time to get everything done. And that in itself was enough to stress me out.

I huffed once, but felt guilty when I felt Brook begin to stir beside me.

Why did I always wake everyone up?

Even after he had been so patient, and supportive. I didn't even know what had overcome me. One second I had been enjoying hanging out with five of the greatest friends I had, and the next I felt like I couldn't breathe, too focussed on thinking about what we still had to do.

"Rye?" Brooklyn yawned, stretching in the process.

"Morning." I whispered as I stayed cuddled into his side. I heard him chuckle, his arm that was around my waist pulling me closer.

"How are you feeling?" Brook asked, and suddenly I felt myself wake up properly. Before I had been in a weird state of tiredness, but the second I acknowledged his words I was wide awake, knowing that I'd have to talk to Brooklyn about what he had witnessed... I mean, I couldn't just leave him with that could I?

"I'm sorry." I sighed.

"What on earth are you sorry for? You've done nothing wrong."
I could almost hear the frown that I knew would be on his face, and for some reason I felt my lips curve up into a smile.

"I ruined you're evening Brook... that's why I'm sorry."
I smiled, not moving from his side, even though I wanted nothing more than to hide. In a way I was still doing that, because I was hiding my face in his side... or I just wasn't making eye contact with him. And I don't know why, seeing as I was in a better state than I had been last night.

"You didn't ruin my evening Rye... and if I'm being perfectly honest I've been worried about you for some time now. I know the other's didn't notice, but I did..." Brook stopped then, but I knew he wasn't done speaking, so I waited for him to carry on. I wrapped my arms around his waist, relishing in the way that his hand was carding its way through my hair, while his other stayed on my side.

"You can talk to me Rye, you know that." He whispered, and I sighed for the second time that morning.
And I did know that... all five of us had made that abundantly clear to each other a long time ago. Everyone listened, and everyone gave advice. Other's were better at distracting them than others, and they all had their own individual methods to do so; something that I loved about the boys.

"I don't really know what happened Brook... I was fine, and then I guess I stopped being fine. It's just work too, like, there's so much we have to do, and there's not enough hours in a day to get everything done, and for some reason it's making me anxious. I'm not an anxious person, but for I worry about things. And I just can't for the life of me think of any new content ideas, and it's stressing me out Brook." I whispered, hating how I wanted to cry again. I held it back though by quickly wiping my eyes.
"It's stupid... I don't know why I told you that-"

"-It's not stupid Rye. If it's important to you, then it's important to me too, alright? Because we're in this together, not to sound cheesy."

I laughed at that, thanking Brook in my head so much for knowing the right thing to say.
