Andy
My heart was beating too fast.
Why would she do that to me? And on our one year anniversary... why would she break it off? I didn't understand.
I watched her walk away, frozen in place, still not fully comprehending the words that she'd spoken barely twenty seconds ago.
How could she do that?
I'd had a whole evening planned. And all that months worth of planning... all down the drain...
what had even happened? We were fine! We saw each other as often as possible, and spoke nearly everyday.
She said it wasn't working. But what wasn't working? The distance? This whole boyband thing? Me? Her? Us?
I gasped then, realising that I hadn't been breathing since she walked away. I quickly walked over to the nearest bench and sat down, head in my hands.
So much for that romantic stroll.
Then the tears came. A barrage of sobs that shook my whole body, and I could already feel my heart cleaving into two pieces... and then four... and then eight... until it had shattered completely to dust.
I didn't realise how much it would hurt.
Was she hurting? Wherever she was? It didn't seem like it to me, when she walked away without a word after ending it.
Did she ever really love me? Like I loved her? Did she ever really care?
I know I cared. Now it seems like I cared too much, I loved too much, where it wasn't wanted.
What had she wanted then? I thought we were going to last.
A low, keening sound erupted from my throat as I continued sobbing, the sobs themselves not letting up. I missed her already... I missed her so much... but why did I miss her if she didn't miss me? Was I being delusional this whole time? At what point was she lying to me about how she loved me? And what point did she know?
The sobs receded then, being replaced by an intense anger that made my hands shake. I wiped my eyes and stood up, before taking off into the park itself. It was nearing six in the evening, so it would be empty. I could fall apart where no one would find me.

My screams of frustration and anger echoed around the clearing in the woods that were in the middle of the park. I kicked whatever I could find, punching tree trunks until my hands felt numb, and my knuckles bled.
My throat was in pieces.
And then I fell to my knees, in one final, terrible scream that seemed to rip my throat with the intensity.
I slumped over then, limp on my knees, anger completely spent.
I was cold. And hollow. The darkness seeped into my skin, right down to the bones.
I shivered.
What was I even doing here? I should've gone home the second she left. The boys would've known what to do. I felt my eyes water again, now realising just how alone I was. I fished out my phone from my pocket and unlocked it, shaking fingers sliding across the screen.
I had a text from Rye.
Let me know when you want picking up Fovvs. Have a lovely evening. Give ***** my best too! Oh yeah, happy one year anniversary mate! I forgot to say it earlier.
He'd sent it two hours ago. Must've been just after he'd dropped me off.
Had I really been by myself in the park for two hours?
I shivered again. I needed to call Rye. I needed to talk to him. I needed to... I don't know.
I crumpled into sobs at his words. So he hadn't noticed anything amiss either. It wasn't just me. So what had brought this on then? Why would she break up with me?
